THE BRAZIL NUT FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE KAYABI PEOPLE

This work is the result of a research project developed in the Graduate Program Degree in Teaching in Intercultural Indigenous Context. The objective of this work is developing teaching strategies in the areas of Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Language and Social Sciences, which are areas provided for in the Common National Curricular Base. For the development of these teaching strategies it was necessary to establish a generating theme, which in this work is the presence of Brazil nuts in the culture of the Kaiabi people. The methodology used for the work to have the participation of the entire community was ethnography and participant research. The area where the research was carried out is the Apiaká-Kayabi Indigenous Land, located in the municipality of Juara, state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The results were achieved and the entire community participated in the research work.
