RESUMO:

This work falls within the field of education, research area: “Teaching and Languages in an Intercultural Context” and focuses on teaching the Nakado'tu-Negarotê language, in its oral form, based on our traditional narratives. It also seeks to promote the appreciation of the mother tongue and the strengthening of cultural identity, from the early stages of a child's schooling. To this end, we have developed a pedagogical practice with a multi-grade class of Early Childhood Education (4 and 5 years old) and 1st grade of Elementary School I at the Vale do Guaporé Municipal Indigenous School, located in the Central Negarotê village, Vale do Guaporé Indigenous Land, municipality of Comodoro-MT. As for the research methodology, we initially started with a literature review, interviews with elders, analysis of official documents relevant to the topic, and a qualitative approach based on action research. The pedagogical methodology was developed based on the concept that language is interaction and discourse, through storytelling, playful activities, collective illustrations, visual arts, and songs related to the narratives. Considering the context and needs of children in relation to mastery of the Nakado'tu language, we developed different teaching activities, drawing on our ancestral knowledge. As the final product of the research, we produced an educational documentary that records the oral teaching and learning practices of the Nakado'tu language developed with the class. This material will serve as an educational resource for our schools and will also contribute to strengthening the cultural identity of our people. At school, we face a lack of specific teaching materials written in our mother tongue to work with our students, so the Nakado’tu language has been taught through oral transmission.
