RESUMO:

Safflower is an oleaginous plant tolerant to adverse weather conditions such as high temperature and water restrictions, which has potential for planting in the second harvest period in the Midwest region of Brazil, where due to the beginning of the dry season we have restrictions on crops due to reduction of rainfall and increase in temperature. The demand for bioenergetic alternatives justifies the need to carry out studies with safflower. In this sense, this study intends to evaluate nine safflower genotypes in different planting spacings. The experiment in a factorial scheme will be conducted in the experimental area of the Laboratory of Genetic Resources & Biotechnology (LRG&B) of UNEMAT, in Cáceres-MT, evaluating nine safflower genotypes with four spacings. The test will be implemented in a randomized block design, with three replications, in a 9x4 factorial scheme, evaluating nine genotypes and four spacing between rows (0.30 m; 0.45 m; 0.60 and 0.75 m). The data obtained will be submitted to analysis of variance, and to the Skott and Knott mean grouping test and genetic parameters.
