RESUMO:

This dissertation is part of the stricto sensu postgraduate research in Teaching in an Intercultural Indigenous Context (PPGECII) at the State University of Mato Grosso and is about the Apiaká indigenous knowledge in pedagogical practice and the relevance of the Indigenous Knowledge in School Action Project. Therefore, the research topic is Indigenous Knowledge in School: paths to the recovery of the Apiaká language and culture in the Mayrob village. The Indigenous Knowledge in Indigenous School Education Action Project, led by Leonardo Crixi Apiaká, is central to the research because it relates to my history within the village and the project at the Mayrob village school, where I completed all my schooling. The general objective is: To understand the importance of indigenous knowledge in school, relating it to the analysis of books produced by the Indigenous Knowledge in School Action Project, identifying what is still lacking in our evaluation, and to produce other intercultural pedagogical materials for the learning of students in the early years of elementary school. The research is conducted within the community with elders, leaders, students, and teachers, through participation and observation, describing the activities developed at the school and analyzing the materials already written by us within the project, as well as producing other materials that are made together with the students, mainly by the community council. The Indigenous Knowledge in Schools Action Project has contributed to an important path for the people in supporting the appreciation and publication of the traditional knowledge of the Apiaká people, with the production of teaching materials, the recovery of words in the language, and the training of teachers, in addition to providing learning opportunities for students at the Leonardo Crixi Apiaká School.
