This investigation sought to highlight the importance of the assumptions of Sociolinguistic Research, especially Educational Sociolinguistics, to understand the treatment of language heterogeneity in a school context. In this sense, the research has as general objective to analyze the methodologies used by Portuguese Language teachers regarding the treatment given to linguistic variation, especially to the orality marks present in written texts by high school students from the State School “13 de Maio”, in the city of Porto Esperidião, in the state of Mato Grosso. Therefore, the study was based on authors who have been relating language to teaching itself, such as Stella Maris Bortoni-Ricardo, Magda Soares, Marcos Bagno and Carlos Alberto Faraco. Based on this, the methodological procedures used took into account the social and cultural aspects of the language, as well as having a quali-quanti character, being divided into different stages. The corpus was collected through the analysis of textual productions of eleven students from two high school classes, in addition to a semi-structured interview with two teachers responsible for teaching Portuguese. Among some results obtained based on the written texts, there is the presence of twenty-two linguistic variations in the internal and external dimensions, and the linguistic variation present in these texts is not limited to the marks of orality. From the interviews carried out, we verified that these linguistic variations and changes have been worked on in the classes of the two research collaborators. At the same time, with the data obtained and analyzed, we found that there are interferences of orality in written production and that more and more teachers seek to include, in their methodologies, the systematic work with linguistic variation and change, mixing the student's linguistic knowledge with the technological devices.

The present qualitative research with a characteristic of the epistemology of emergency and netnography aimed to analyze the construction of meanings about texts in digital format from the perspective of second-year academics of the Letters course of the discipline Languages and Digital Technologies at the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul. For this, this work was based on the studies of multisensory and affective perspectives (MILLS, 2016, 2013; SPINOZA, 2009; MORGAN, ROCHA AND MACIEL, 2021; DELEUZE AND GUATTARI, 1995, among other authors). The survey was carried out during the month of September 2021. Data generation took place through video and audio recording of online classes, specifically during student seminar presentations, in addition to the researcher`s field diary. The analysis consisted of the investigation and description of emerging aspects (MACIEL, 2016; SOMERVILLE, 2007) throughout the investigated process, taking into account genuine, spontaneous and natural interactions (KOZINETS, 2010; CORRÊA AND ROZADOS, 2017). The criteria used were the quality of the relationships and interactions established between the students and their actions in the face of situations that emerged during the online classes. This work contributed to the resignification of the conception of how meanings are constructed and can emerge, considering an embodied and affective dimension both in theory and in the practice of democracy in the classroom and in society in general. The study resulted in a reflection on language in connection with the cognitive and emotional in the sense of expanding the perspectives of knowledge construction.

The understanding that we have about the first quilombos in Brazil makes us believe in a widely organized system, capable of guaranteeing the safety of blacks who fled from white slavers. Currently, quilombos remain characterized as systems in which subjects are aggregated in favor of common goals, including on digital bases. This practice of union between the quilombolas in digitally mediated spaces is what is defined as “digital aquilombamento”. In this sense, the quilombos underwent a resizing in their practices, organizing and adapting themselves in digital spaces, which are constituted by social practices marked by dynamism, diversity, language, among other forms of functioning. Such premises open assumptions to understand language(gem) and digital spaces as complex dynamic systems, which are (re)organized and (re)adapted as users interact with each other. In this direction, this research aims to investigate and analyze the speeches that mark positions through language (gem) in a live produced by the group of quilombola women from Oriximiná on their Facebook page. explained through some categories of Complex Dynamical Systems. Therefore, this research is part of the area of Applied Linguistics and is guided by studies on discursive positions and postures in online spaces (BARTON E LEE, 2015); in the concept of blackness found in (MUANGA 1996, 2020, 2021); Digital Aquilombamento (SANTANA and SOBRINHO, 2020); (CONCEIÇÃO, 2020); Quilombola Women of Dealdina, (2020); Hall's identity (1996) in the light of the Theory of Complex Dynamical Systems (HOLLAND 1995); (LARSEN-FREEMAN 1997, 2008, 2017); (SILVA, 2008) and Paiva (2015, 2016, 2019). As it is qualitative research with an exploratory and descriptive basis, the analysis of the data collected is limited to a live from the Dandaras Group page on Facebook. In order to follow the actions of the subjects who interacted before and during the live in their social and language practices, the data were divided into categories to accurately describe them and ensure the organicity and better understanding of the analyses. The results indicate that the speeches of the speakers and mediators, as well as the comments that emerged before and during the live, are discursive positions that mark identities and resistance of quilombola women through social and language practices, as these dynamics constitute the complex system that is Facebook.

This study aims to present and propose a method for teaching English in Basic Education for state schools in the State of Mato Grosso: Project-Based Learning (PBL). Therefore, it reviews the historical perspective of the emergence and evolution of methods and approaches and the curriculum for teaching English, using the authors as references (Richards; Rodgers, 1986, 2014; Richards, 2001; Almeida Filho (1993) and Kumaravadivelu (2003,) and dialoguing with the curriculum guidelines of the BNCC (2017) and the DRC-MT (2018). The proposal prioritizes actions and strategies of student-centered teaching models, according to Nunan (1988). The language conception that permeates the proposal is the socio-interactionist one of language (Bakhtin, 1997) and the sociocultural one of learning (Vygotsky, 2001). This is bibliographical research that allowed us to build theoretical and methodological subsidies for the proposition of Project-Based Learning, focused on the teaching and learning of the English language. Based on our experience in the classroom and the infrastructure offered by schools in the State of Mato Grosso, the proposal suggests significant and engaging learning experiences, which encompass sociocultural, political and linguistic aspects, feasible to be carried out in English classrooms of the public school and that respect the socio-historical context of students, curriculum documents and discussions on the development of foreign language teaching methods and approaches.

Our work is enrolled in the Linguistic Studies concentration area, at the Discursive Process Studies research study, of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the University of the State of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT) and aims to understand the meaning effects of discourses on Education Professional and Technological in Brazil. The theory that supports this discussion is the Discourse Analysis of a materialist line, founded by Michel Pêcheux, in France, in the late 60s, introduced and developed in Brazil by Eni Orlandi in the 70s. In this work, we take the route – Colony, Empire and Republic – through which the implementation of Professional and Technological Education took place in order to understand the functioning of the discourses resumed, updated in/by the most current public education policies. In this way, we describe and analyze the functioning of political discourse, that is, the way in which relations of power and meaning are being legally supported. We also observe the historical subject-form (religious and capitalist) in the functioning of discourses on Professional and Technological Education, considering that the religious subject, interpellated by the Church, has God as the center; on the other hand, the capitalist subject, the subject-of-law, according to Haroche (1992), has the idea of autonomy and freedom, but is subject to the State and the Laws in an abstract way, making it appear, in evidence of rights and duties, that the individual is solely responsible for themself. In this way, understanding that the discourses consist of the said and forgotten sayings (interdiscourse) and also the unspoken ones, we could observe in the analysis of the selected clipping that it is through education that the State seeks to dominate the subjects, it uses Education Professional and Technological to achieve its goals: dominate and train the workforce (AMARAL, 2007a), directing students, especially poor and black, to this type of education.

The city of Cáceres-MT has the characteristic of receive immigrants, as it borders Bolivia. It is common for Bolivians, mainly from the city of San Matias, to immigrate to Brazil looking for better living conditions, given that, due to the border and political agreements, there is a demand for trade between the countries. Thus, Bolivians move to Cáceres to live with their families. In this way, Bolivian children are enrolled in public schools and start attending classes. In addition to children and youth, adult Bolivians are also enrolled in schools in the EJA (Youth and Adult Education) modality. Thinking about this reality, this research aims to analyze Portuguese language teaching practices for Bolivian immigrant students in public schools in Cáceres-MT. This study starts from the premise that it is possible for immigrant students to have different levels of knowledge of Portuguese, which can make their school education difficult. We also consider possible difficulties found by professionals that work with this group, considering from training to the methodologies and approaches used to meet the training demand of these groups of students. To develop this research, we took as an analytical corpus report from teachers and pedagogues who had experiences with teaching Portuguese to groups of Bolivian students. The collection of data collected through the application of a questionnaire. This research uses the theoretical propositions of PLAc-Portuguese as a Host Language, discussed in Brazil, mainly by Barbosa and São Bernardo (2018), along with the dialogic conception of language, a theory derived from the Bakhtin’s Circle. It is, therefore, a case study that allowed us to carry out analyzes and reflections that demonstrated the status quo of Portuguese language teaching practices for immigrant students of Bolivian nationality inserted in the public school context of the city of Cáceres-MT, which demonstrated the urgent need for training, continuing education and implementation and modernization of existing laws that govern the reception and teaching of immigrant students in schools in this city.

This dissertation was developed in the line of research “Study of Processes of Variation and Change” of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the University of the State of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT). It was based on the theoretical contributions of qualitative variationist Sociolinguistics, based on the theory of William Labov (2008), as well as on Pluridimensional Dialectology, based on the study of Radke & Thun (1996) and Thun (1998), who study and analyze the variation of Portuguese spoken in Afro-Brazilian communities. In this sense, this study, called The variation of the anaphoric direct object in the speech of the quilombolas of the municipality of Poconé-MT, aims to analyze the occurrences of the anaphoric direct object in the speech of the quilombolas of the municipality of Poconé-MT, contributing to studies of contact of the African languages with the Portuguese language spoken in Brazil. It can be seen that there are numerous variable phenomena of Brazilian Portuguese in this community, so we intend to research which are the variants of the anaphoric direct object in the speech of Afro-Brazilians in the municipality of Poconé and which linguistic or extralinguistic factors favor/disfavor the use of variants of the anaphoric direct object in the speech of the quilombolas of Poconé. The corpus consists of 13 (thirteen) interviews carried out with quilombolas in the municipality of Poconé, in the state of Mato Grosso, in which the occurrences of the anaphoric direct object were selected. These variants caught our attention and we decided to study this phenomenon in this community through speech data collected from quilombolas in the municipality of Poconé-MT and provided by the Database (2016) of Prof. Dr. Antonio Carlos Santana de Souza and Prof. Dr. Joachin Steffen (University of Ausburg – Germany). The result of the research consisted of describing and analyzing the realization of the anaphoric direct object in the speech of the Poconean, as well as showing the realization of the accusative clitic variant, given that, apparently, this has indicated a possible erasure or disappearance, and, with this has pointed to a substitute form that of the null object or empty category, which shows the absence of the direct object. In this sense, the work describes and analyzes the most frequent occurrences, such as null object, lexical pronoun, noun phrase and lexical word, which start to play the role of anaphoric direct object. Thus, it is expected that this work will contribute to the description of the language of the Afro-descendant community of Poconé and, consequently, with the Mato Grosso and Brazilian languages.

This dissertation, with a qualitative approach, has the general objective of analyzing the nature of the idioms adopted, based on the use of the Portuguese Language, in the different regions of Brazil, by the different groups of speakers that live there. The research is based on Variationist theoretical assumptions such as Xatara (1995; 1998) and Riva (2008). For this purpose, a descriptive exploratory methodology was used, developed through a bibliographic survey. The idioms data were analyzed, having as reading support the Open Dictionary of Calão Idioms Expressions (2021) and the Onomasiological Dictionary of Usual Idioms in the Portuguese Language of Brazil (2009). The analysis was based on the semantic-pragmatic nature, that is, it intended to capture the discrepancy between the propositional meaning recoverable by the compositional semantics of an utterance and the meaning intended by a speaker in a given utterance. In this sense, it allowed to know/recognise the idiomatic expressions of use, identifying the meanings of isolated words, and understanding the meaning of the expressions, their origin and the situation of daily use of each one of them. With the analysis of 102 expressions, it was possible to perceive and reflect the richness and diversity of the country, regarding the colloquial use of language and its meaning, with a view to enhancing the sociolinguistic culture in different regions of Brazil.

This dissertation proposes to understand the enunciative functioning of eleven publications that went viral on social network with the use of the hashtag symbol, the symbol cerquilha (#), known in Brazil as "jogo da velha". It is inscribed in the line of research of the Semantics of the Event, developed by Eduardo Guimarães (2018). We analyze the semantic-enunciative functioning of eleven publications, through the observation of the temporality of the event with regard to the clipping of the past, the semanticist calls it memorable, and the projection of future enunciations, of futurity. To this end, we cut for analysis the statements of the publications of Greta Thunberg's speech at the United Nations (UN); the comment of radio host Paulo Negreiros, in the program 96 minutes; the publication of Greta Thunberg on the death of Indians in the Amazon; Jair Bolsonaro's comment on the death of the Indians in response to Greta; paulo guedes' publication on the attack on Greta; the publication of Emmanoel Macron on the fires in the Amazon; the publication of Jair Bolsonaro in response to the fires; the comment of internet user Rodrigo Andreaça about Brigitte Macron and Michelle Bolsonaro; news of istoé magazine, highlighting solidarity and apology to Brigitte Macron; news remains the death and murder of councilwoman Marielle Franco and Anderson, on the portal Estadão, the say of Councilman Demetrius Marcelino. These are the materials that constitute our corpus, are texts that were cut from the digital platform of Twitter, Facebook, Istoé digital magazine and the Portal estadão news. In this direction, we analyze the production of meanings of the process of designation of #desculpaGreta, #desculpaBrigitte #Mariellevive in the language event. Therefore, the analyses were exercised in the enunciative perspective, in which the meaning is constituted by the modes of agency of the/in the language event.

This Master's dissertation is part of the research line Studies of Meaning Processes of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics, at the Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (UNEMAT), and aims to analyze the semantic-enunciative functioning of nouns in texts from high school textbooks adopted in three public schools in the city of Cáceres/MT. We also analyze the constitution of the space and the enunciative scene on the covers of the selected textbooks and the DSDs. Thus, the analyzes of this research consider the grammatical studies that normalize the language in relation to the noun grammatical class, as well as the semantic enunciative functioning of nouns, in the enunciation events that constitute the texts that integrate the textbooks, highlighting that the functioning of language occurs as the construction of meanings. Our choice for this grammatical class is because it is one of the most important grammatical classes for the Portuguese language, as it refers to names. The question that guided the development of this study is due to the fact that the textbook in the teaching of Portuguese Language in Brazil is often used for normative purposes of the language, without observing the semantic-enunciative functioning of the language, which justifies the need to think and develop a study that addresses the enunciative functioning of nouns extracted from textbooks, which are used in the classroom, in a perspective in which language works in the event of enunciation affected by exteriority. In this sense, the analyzes were developed in the theoretical perspective of the Semantics of the Event, which studies the meaning in the event of saying, that is, the senses are given in the functioning of language. The corpus of this research consists of three texts and covers of Portuguese Secondary School textbooks, which were used in the classroom at public schools in the city of Cáceres-MT, in order to observe the semantic distinction between normative and normative analysis. the enunciative analysis supported by the Semantics of the Event. The three textbooks are: Portuguese: Language, Literature, Text Production (2004), by the authors Maria Luiza Abaurre, Marcela Nogueira Pontarra and Tatiana Fadel; Portuguese Languages 2, Literature, Text Production, Grammar (2010), by the authors Willian Roberto Cereja and Thereza Cochar Magalhães and Portuguese 2, context, interlocution and meaning (2016), by the authors Maria Luiza M. Abaurre, Maria Bernadete M, Abaurre and Marcela Pontara. The analyzes carried out allowed us to observe both the semantic stability of the grammatical class of the noun produced by the normalization of the language as well as its semantic dispersion constituted by the functioning of nouns in the enunciation of the texts of the mentioned textbooks.

This work aims to analyze the meaning of student in the official documents of the Youth and Adult Centers-CEJAs in Mato Grosso, considering the history of education and its development to serve young people and adults, EJA students. The work is part of the research line of the Studies on the Processes of Meaning of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (UNEMAT), with a theoretical contribution from the Semantics of the Event (Guimarães, 2002, 2017, 2018), which deals with the study of meaning in the event of saying. It is to this extent that we will guide the history of Brazilian education, in the analytical process that is resignified in/through language through the functioning of language in/through enunciation. We will analyze semantically-enunciatively the word “student” in the ROPs (Rules of Pedagogical Organizations) of the CEJAs (Center for Youth and Adult Education) in the State of Mato Grosso; Decree No. 1,123 of January 28, 2008, which deals with the structure and organization of the Youth and Adult Education Centers, in Mato Grosso and the LDB (Lei de Diretrizes e Bases) 9,394/96, which make up the corpus of this research, which will have as results the unfolding of the semantic-enunciative analyzes of the presented clippings, demonstrating how the meanings of the word “student” are constituted during the changes of the Laws that guarantee the Education of Youths and Adults (EJA) in Mato Grosso.

This dissertation is based on the line of “Discourse Processes Studies”, which is part of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the Mato Grosso State University (PPGL/UNEMAT). From the perspective of Discourse Analysis, as precursors of these studies: Michel Pêcheux (1960), in France, and Eni Orlandi (1980), in Brazil; we develop the theme: tensions in/of the legal discourse of criminalization of homotransphobia. Based on the movements produced by disagreements and contradictories, we were led to think about the tensions between the parties that presided over the trial of the Writ of Injunction (MI 4733) and Direct action of Unconstitutionality for Omission – ADO 26, both processed in the Federal Supreme Court (STF), in 2019. In this way, we sought to analyze how legal discourse works based on the oral arguments presented by the subject-lawyers, focusing on a central issue: what way of the homotransphobia criminalization was understood by subject-lawyers who presided over the trial? Thus, raise the attention the excessive repetition of words in the enunciations, as in he use of the pronouns "I, we and they", in their different ways of establishing the interlocution and in the exercise of (de)marcate places in language disputes. These marks, excesses and resumptions in the linguistic materiality, led us to undertake a guided Reading throught on the thesis of the lawyer who proposed the lawsuit, and based in three oral arguments presented by Amicus Curiae, composed by two lawyers who represented the Mixed Parliamentary Front for Family and Life Support (FPMFAV), and one that was representing the National Association of Evangelical Jurists (Anajure). After our analyses, we believe that there are different meanings produced in the way subject-lawyers are taken to mean the criminalization of homotransphobia; already the operation of the pronouns produces limits, differences, and referents from the positions assumed by the subject-advocates in the discourse.Such differences and meanings are derived from the processes of interpellation and identification with different ideologies. Moreover, we consider that certain subject-positions were unfolded in the gestures of retaking the sacred words (Holy Bible), and the words of the Law (fundamental rights), in order for the subject-attorneys to support the request for (un)founded the criminalization suit.

This work, inscribed in the research line Studies of Discourse Processes, of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics, of the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT), aims to understand, through linguistic studies, the gestures of reading and interpretation about the environmental discourse in the urban space, specifically, the relationship between subject, rubbish and city. To do so, we inscribed ourselves in the theoretical perspective of Discourse Analysis, developed by Michel Pêcheux, in France, and spread in Brazil by Eni Orlandi. In this study, we take as corpus the National Solid Waste Plan, Law No. 12.305/10, pamphlets, signs and photographs that circulated in 2019, in the city of São José dos Quatro Marcos - MT, the year in which the process of selective collection starts in the municipality. We questioned by the language and its operation: How does the writing of the Law nº12.305/10 that deals with the environmental public policy regarding solid waste, takes corporeality in the local power? We work with the aim of understanding by the analysis of different discursive materialities, verbal language and images, discussing, by the movement of interpretation, how the discursive issues about the rubbish, sanitation and environmental preservation are meant between the subject and the urban space. In this sense, we think through language, the basis of discursive processes, how the discourse that focuses on the remains, debris, are signified within a society. For this, we mobilize theoretical concepts of conditions of production, discursive memory, subject, paraphrase and the notion of different sayings about the rubbish in urban space. Movements of language that claim meanings, gestures of interpretation, regarding the issue of the relationship between subject, space, the environmental discourse on rubbish in the city. Thus, we verify, from gestures of readings, by symbolic materiality, how the discursive practices are meant, via texts, between subject and language in the city regarding the discourse on solid waste and its effects of meaning.

In this work, included in the research line Studies of Discursive Processes, of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics, at the Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso, we will undertake an analysis gesture, supported by the analytical theoretical device of materialist Discourse Analysis, in order to understand the racist hate speech against black people in relation to the functioning of denial, in posts that circulated on the social network Twitter. The research corpus consisted of tweets and information about the rules of conduct published on the social network Twitter. Our research question is: How does hate speech against black people on the social network Twitter work? We analyze the historicity of hate speech in relation to the black subject, from the colonial period to contemporary times, in order to understand the functioning of facets of structural racism in society. We seek to understand the functioning of the social imaginary about the black subject in the social network, as well as the functioning of a racist ideological formation, which is supported by the capitalist system. In this direction, the racist hate speech is constituted as a social practice that gives visibility to the effects of domination and control of the weakened social class, in this case, specifically the black. Contemporarily, racist hate speech is determined by the conditions of production of technology and digital, becoming visible through the rapid circulation of speeches on social networks. The functioning of denial in the tweets showed subject positions in dispute in the reproduction of racism, positions that show the hate-racism relationship under the injunctions of the said and the unsaid.

This research is based on the Theory of Linguistic Variation and Change (Weinreich, Labov and Herzog 2006 [1968]), whose main objective is to survey the pronominal filling in competition with the null subject in the speech of Cariocas, focusing on the performance of the pronouns of arbitrary reference and its correlation with the alteration of the Null Subject Parameter, in order to verify the behavior of this phenomenon in this variety of Brazilian Portuguese. To analyze the achievement of the subject of arbitrary reference in Rio de Janeiro speech, we will base ourselves in part on the corpus used by Duarte (2018), which belongs to the Concordance Project available at (www.concordancia.ufrj.br), with interviews recorded between 2009 and 2010 , which include speakers from Copacabana and Nova Iguaçu (RJ), stratified by age, education level and gender. From this corpus, we are only interested in interviews with speakers of Copacabana. The data obtained will undergo statistical treatment with the aid of the GoldVarb program, which will allow us to analyze both quantitative and qualitative results, in order to show which factors condition the subject's completion, as well as which contexts still favor grammar [+ Null subject].

This research is part of the research line Studies of Discursive Processes of the Graduate Program in Linguistics at the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT) and joins the theoretical perspective of Materialist Discourse Analysis, developed from the 1960s onwards, by the philosopher and linguist Michel Pêcheux, in France, and spread, in Brazil, since the 1970s, by Eni Puccinelli Orlandi. The objective of this work is to analyze how the discourse of youth protagonism that appears in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) correlates with the corporate bias discourses, which refer to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations. for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO). Such speeches attribute to the youth the role of being the main agent of an action, a social actor and allow us to reflect on the way in which this proposal, textualized in our Educational Policy, echoes neoliberalism, articulating education to the “world of work” by through repeatability, producing shifts and movements of meaning. We observed linguistic marks and vestiges that refer to the corporate discourse through the corpus of analysis, constituted by clippings from the BNCC and some images that allow the understanding of some discursive functionings that are related to the research object. The dissertation is divided into three chapters, and in the first chapter we analyze the discursiveness of youth protagonism and the way in which this has been signified in the BNCC, more specifically in the final stage of High School, as well as the position occupied by the subjects and how they enroll. In this approach, we give visibility to the senses of youth protagonism, observing the language with its exteriority, involving the individuation of the subject in its capitalist historical form. In the second chapter, we mobilize the movement of meanings between education and the labor market as a proposal for educational reforms that is sustained in capitalism, through a policy aimed at human capital, arising from international organizations. Therefore, the diffusion of instrumental education is an elementary factor for the objectives of the market economy, whereas, through the ideological interpellation of the individual into a subject, which discursiveness occurs, such functioning promotes the erasure of the inscription of language in history, making it signify, producing the effect of evidence of meaning. In the third chapter, we reflect on Brazilian education thought by those who value capital more than knowledge, this fact gains dimensions when the prism of ideological interests permeates our Educational Legislation and breaks out in society, evidencing divisions. It is in these production conditions that resistance can occur, as well as failure in the subject's interpellation, when he dares to revolt.

To talk about languages and education in the frontier school, through language studies we join the theory of Discourse Analysis which, through theoretical and methodological concepts, authorizes the analyst to include the ideological and historical conditions when the discourse was produced. This allows the analysis to go beyond the grammatical structure of the text/cutting, and makes it possible to understand how it produces and conveys meaning. Which leads us to present the historical context of the constitution of the Midwest Brazil-Bolivia border, and more precisely the constitution of the northwest border strip of the municipality of Pontes and Lacerda-Mt, with the objective of showing the heterogeneous linguistic definition that compose this border. . In the city of Pontes e Lacerda, state and municipal border schools receive students with dual nationality – Brazilian and Bolivian. In this course, we will approach the origin of Brazilian education, the promotion of educational policies for the immigrant student, specifically, the Bolivian student. In view of this, we will explain about the beginning of education in the municipality of Pontes e Lacerda-MT and the formation of border schools in Vila Matão and Comunidade Triunfo, which is approximately located about 60 km from the border of Bolivia. The border school is formed in a heterogeneous space and has a reality of pluralities, where it is necessary to reflect on the identity built and guided by the Brazilian education system. The border school, defined in its political pedagogical project, without considering linguistic diversities, making up part of its reality. In this sense, the identity of the frontier school is consolidated, while subjects and languages are silenced, the school is thus constituted as a place designed by the State, where the student subject must learn to write and speak the language of the country. , the official language of the State – the Portuguese language. The school starts to act as an ideological mechanism, used to work on pedagogical policies of interest to the State. When the Bolivian students arrive at our schools, they are already subjected in their mother tongue, Spanish, and all their linguistic knowledge is related to the social practices that they experienced outside the classroom and that, from the school learning process, will suffer other cultural interferences. , social and linguistic, that is, in the classroom Bolivian students must learn a new language while they need to follow the syllabus. At the same time, they are inhibited from using their mother tongue in the classroom. Thus, it establishes a tense relationship between subject and languages. In this sense, we focus on reflecting on the Portuguese language literacy process for Bolivian students in a mother tongue pedagogical profile. We observe discursive marks of the historical and ideological processes of language policies established in school pedagogical work.

The methodology used in the development of the research was based on ethnographic records that occurred over a period of twenty years (1998 to 2018) in the Sararé Indigenous Land, guaporé valley region, in the municipality of Conquista D'Oeste-MT. During this time, various materials were produced with the people, such as recordings of speeches, music, pedagogical materials in mother tongue, writings of songs among other materials. Through these materials, phonetic transcriptions and phonological analyses of the Nambikwara language spoken by the Subgroup Katitãulhu were elaborated. It also aimed to support the indigenous community with the registration of phonological study of the mother tongue. This work aimed to be based mainly on the collection of first-hand phonetic data, transcribed using the International Phonetic Alphabet and on our phonological analyses of the information transcribed in the language of the indigenous people of Sararé, the Katitãulhu.

The present study, linked to the area Linguistic process studies and the line of research Studies of discursive processes, of the Graduate Program in Linguistics of the University of Mato Grosso (PPGL/UNEMAT), aimed to understand the historical-ideological functioning materialized in the farewell letter/post of the suicidal subject, Yago Oliveira. To this end, it was inscribed in the theoretical and methodological principles of Discourse Analysis, Pêcheux (1969) and Orlandi (1983), to try to understand the process of subjecting/overdetermining the subject to the historical-ideological processes marked in the letter's saying; and in Freudian-Lacanian Psychoanalysis to give to understand the mode of inscription and subjectivation of the suicidal subject to the order of the real and the imaginary, materialized in the symbolic of the letter, as manifestation of the letter of the unconscious, marked by the dictates of the great Other. We then anchor ourselves in the theoretical-epistemological tripod of Discourse Analysis, namely Linguistics, Historical Materialism and Psychoanalysis, to try to understand the processes that mark the subject, the language(gem) and the story in the gesture of authorship of the suicide letter, which currently circulates, as a rule, in the digital environment, which produces a process of exposure of the subject with its glories and ills. In this view, we gave to understand the process of embodiment of the suicidal subject, the body of the letter/post and the family/social body as a place of constitution and subjecting, dictated by subjective processes of identification and determinations, by the capitalist State, the subject and the senses, because the body functions as a map that traces the (un)paths to the subject, materializing belonging and exclusion, acceptance and retroelement, triumphal glory and the death of the signifier. In this operation, in Yago's posts and farewell letter, what (not) can be said, materializing everything and nothing more than what the subject can mean, thus, our gesture sought to understand the processes of identification/articulation of the suicidal subject, marked by the signifier as a record of the symbolic, the real and the imaginary, in order to understand the functioning of the suicidal subject by an order that is not just the support of the letter of the letter, mutilations, states of mood changes, since this corporeity/textuality comes from elsewhere, comes from the letter of the unconscious and, therefore, does not stand as evidence, distancing itself from the notion of full object and the subject of knowledge.

This study is part of the research line Study of Discursive Processes from the concentration area Study of Linguistic Processes of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics of the State University of Mato Grosso (PPGL/UNEMAT). The research understands the city by the discourse and it is based on theoretical postulates coined in France by Michel Pêcheux and developed by Eni Orlandi, in Brazil. The interest is to understand, based on Discourse Analysis, the relationship that is constituted between subject, city and memory through the symbolic. The proposal examines the functioning of the foundation discourse of the city of Teresina to understand the process of land occupation in Piauí, as well as discuss how the ways the imaginary projection of the city of Teresina mean nowadays from the discourses on the rivers Parnaíba/Bridge Metálica João Luís Ferreira and River Poti/Bridge Estaiada Mestre Isidoro França. This meeting between the present and a memory constitutes, through discourse, a reading and interpreting gesture as an analytical axis of the discursive event. The analysis is carried out by using a heterogeneous corpus made up of letters, maps, plans, historiographical reports, photographs, postcards, documents, crafts, laws and other discursive materialities clipped to develop the reading gesture of repetition and circulation of imaginary formations in the discourse about Teresina. The research works with the concepts of discourse, production conditions, discursive memory, imaginary formation, identification, counter-identification and dis-identification, among others. The theoretical-methodological-analytical device understands the language as the basis of the discursive processes in which the ideological formations are inscribed, in this case, the discourse on the image of the city of Teresina. This image is formulated from a language event about the city and its bridges as a space of meaning, of division of meanings in the urban. The discursive event brings, through the verbal and imagetic discourse, the imaginary formations about the city represented by the bridges that update the city image. The urban spatialization mode configured in the discourses of photographs, letters and decrees, among others, produces a way of saying about the city in Teresina's urban space. The thesis defended is based on two prerogatives: this displacement is affected by force and power relations that function in the urban space from an orientation given by the political which formulates and reformulates the image of the city; B) The discursive process of formulating the city's image discursively materializes the history and brings with it the symbolic about the city of Teresina. this double movement makes an actuality reverberate in the urban discourse that imposes itself on a city memory. It is intended to understand, in the functioning of language, the displacement of the 'canonical' imaginary formations of the city - from the Metálica Bridge postcard to the Estaiada Bridge postcard - in different conditions of speech production. As a result, the research made it possible to understand the meanings of the city image as a bridge in the analysis of the materiality of the discursive event. This event speaks of the displacement of a discourse of representation of the displaced image from a memory about the Metálica Bridge to the actuality of the Estaiada Bridge. the pre-constructed and the imaginary formations formulate the image of the city as a bridge in a repetition that makes the memory of the city image work in the relationship between the urban and the Parnaíba and Poti rivers. The analysis of the imaginary formations of the image of the city of Teresina as a bridge makes it possible to understand, from the way in which Discourse Analysis understands the city, the contradiction in which the city is interconnected by bridges and also divided between the modern and the old parts. The order of the city points to the place of urban tension that is spatialized between the rivers and beyond. The bridges that should, through the organization, take the place of connection, work imagetically, through the symbolic, as a separation in the naturalization of a sense that is linked to the modern as a correlate of beauty and the representation of the city in the imaginary formations of the city image, what is established by discourse about the Estaiada Bridge.

The present research, linked to the line of Study of Discursive Processes, of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics, of the University of the State of Mato Grosso (PPGL/UNEMAT), aims to analyze, from the perspective of materialist Discourse Analysis, the functionings that establish the meanings of discourses about drugs in Brazil, which install the notions of user, dependent and dealer subjects, through current legislation (Law 13,840/2019 and Decree 9,761/2019) and by the news broadcast in/by the media and on/through social networks. Thus, our purpose is to try to understand the imaginary formations about these categories of subjects that are put into circulation by the legislation on drugs. In order to do so, we approach the modes of constitution of legal discourse, giving an understanding of the legal provisions that regulate subject-positions, as well as analyzing the issue of the paradoxes created between the interests/needs and the desires of citizens, materialized in discourses that circulate so much in/through digital media and in/through the space of Cracolândia, as (not) the place of installation of these subjects. We then take Cracolândia as a space that makes the intertwining between the political, the legal, the administrative and the socioeconomic in the urban area of the city reverberate, as a space for observing the relationships between subject, language(gem) and history, analyzing how these clashes and other discourses, resulting from them, are meanings in the discursive practices of the city in relation to drugs, in order to install and give visibility to meanings placed for homeless individuals and users/dependents/traffickers of a substance considered illicit and more dangerous, crack.

This work, developed under the research line “Studies of the process of variation and change”, and the concentration area “Study of linguistic processes”, of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at Unemat, campus de Cáceres, aimed to analyze and to describe, in light of the theoretical and methodological contributions of Sociolinguistics, the vowel oralization process in the speech of residents of Quilombola communities São José do Baixio, in Barra do Bugres, Morrinho and Campina de Pedra, in Poconé, the three in the southern region of Mato Thick. The dependent variables analyzed were: i) the vowel orality of [a] in the nasal environment, and; b) the process of nasalization of the vowel [a] in the nasal context. For this research, we considered 1186 data that were analyzed according to linguistic and extralinguistic factors. Such data were compiled through interviews carried out with 15 native participants, men and women, of two age groups, from these quilombola communities. The data were subjected to investigation and analysis using the computer program R. The results show that the participants prefer to use the phenomenon of vocalic oralization, which appears to be a difference in relation to other varieties of popular Brazilian Portuguese. The study is relevant for the area of analysis and description of languages and may contribute to future research related to linguistic variation in quilombola communities, especially in southern Mato Grosso, with the objective of finding out if it is possible to find the same linguistic phenomena in other communities quilombolas.

This study, registered in the Sociolinguistics, from the research line of Studies in processes of Variation and Change from the Stricto Sensu Post graduating Program in Linguistics, had as main objective to investigate and analyse linguistic attitudes in relation to the spoken local media from the towns. The aim was also to identify and interprete linguistic attitudes in relation to cuiabano way of speaking; in the use of cuiabano way of speaking in the spoken media from Cuiabá-MT. Forty-four interviewed, divided between men and women and secondary and higher education. In order to define the criteria for inclusion of the basic sample from this research, we followed the following criteria: a) the interviewed ones had to be born and resided in the city of Cuiabá, in Mato Grosso; b) the interviewed had to be of age. The interviews with native cuiabanos, which constituted the corpus for the analysis, were developed through thirtythree questions. The initial hypothesis was the natives would present positive linguistic attitudes in relation to the themes that we proposed to research. The results obtained reveal positive linguistic attitudes in relation to the themes that we proposed to research. Informants not only favored the occurrence of regional linguistic varieties in local spoken media, but also criterion allows identity, understanding, culture, tradition, among other aspects promoted through the manifestation of local linguistic uses in the spoken media of the municipalities. In relation to the cuiabano way of speaking, the natives have positive attitudes to their own way of talking, they were favored to the use of this way of speaking in the spoken media from Cuiabá-MT. Research on linguistic attitudes is of extreme social relevance, because in addition to conditioning factors sex, age, education, among others, linguistic attitudes influence the linguistic choices of speakers and the linguistic changes in the environment, thus providing the preservation or eradication of speeches. We hope that our research, besides the identification of linguistic attitudes, it shoud contributes towards the occurrence of local linguistic use in local spoken media. We also intend that this research contributed to the valorization of the linguistic reality of the researched community, Cuiabá-MT. It is also aimed, through this research, to enable the interested in productions related to speaking in the media.

This research aims to analyze, from the perspective of Complex Dynamic Systems Theory (HOLLAND, 1995; VAN LIER, 2004; LANTOLF, 2006; LARSEN FREEMAN & CAMERON, 2008; PAIVA, 2011; MORIN, 2013; LARSEN-FREEMAN, 2017), the dynamics of the continuing education practices of Basic Education English Language teachers, developed by the English teacher trainer of the state agency CEFAPRO (Center for Training and Updating of Basic Education Professionals), in the city of Pontes e Lacerda – MT. The interest to develop this study arose in view of the complexity that involves the teaching profession and its specificities with the profession of teaching in the technological context in which we live. In this sense, it is important to problematize the issues involved in the context of the dynamics of continuing education practices so that they can provide more competence to teachers, who are responsible for preparing citizens able to live and work with the complexity of everyday life. Currently, research related to teacher education is one of the great advances worldwide, as the continuous professional development of teachers is one of the main concerns of scholars who seek to supplant the old training paradigms. To carry out this qualitative, interpretive case study, the collection instruments were interviews and questionnaires on Google Forms with trainers and teachers, as well as visits for observation during training meetings. In the analysis, I register how the dynamics of the practices of the English Language trainer teacher are presented in the (dis)continued training of teachers at CEFAPRO-Polo de Pontes e Lacerda, noting that there is an emergence of resignified propositions of continuing education for English Language teachers in service, which enable the conditions for the realization of teaching practices mediated by digital technologies in a naturalized, but not neutral, manner, which contribute to linguistic competence and significant methodological practices. From these discussions, I conclude that updating, innovation, creativity and criticality are essential factors in the context of the complex system of continuing education researched, as it is obsolete and weakened by lack of self-organization and adaptation, as it does not follow the propositions of new public policies, nor the complexity of contemporary society.

In this study we proposed to analyze the representation of the sayings of Carandiru's condemned people in language events, considering their social and historical conditions. Other questions contribute to our proposal such as: 1) How is the representation of the sayings of named or anonymous convicts according to the authors of the selected works? 2) How do the speakers (the convicts) operate in the space of enunciation in the interior of Carandiru? 3) Are the metaphors in the claims of the convicts the same as those used in the daily life by the speakers of the portuguese language? How do some words or expressions that appear in the texts indicate metaphors through the procedures of rewriting and polysemy through synonymic relations? The semantics of enunciation, developed by Eduardo Guimarães (1989, 2005a, 2005b), is the theoretical support adopted, as it is a materialist theory that works on the historicity of meaning in the realization of enunciation. The analytical corpus is composed of extracts of statements of named and anonymous convicts extracted from 04 (four) literary pieces: O prisioneiro da grade de ferro, by Percival de Souza (1983); Estação Carandiru, by Dráuzio Varella (1999); Diário de um detento: o livro, by Jocenir do Prado (2001) and Carcereiros, by Dráuzio Varella (2012). In order to represent the speakers’ enunciation, the authors of these listed books (re)construct, based on their point of view, statements interspersed with meanings from other enunciations, i.e. from other enunciative instances. These narratives of the authors are characterised by certain aspects such as violence, criminality, corruption, sociability between individuals who share the same goals. In this perspective, we consider language as a historical and social phenomenon, considering its plasticity in the constitution of meaning and speakers. In the semantic and enunciative functioning of the sayings of the condemned, represented from the point of view of the authors, language offers an openness of meaning and polysemy, which inhabits silence and is the perfect condition for the constitution of metaphor or the possibility for words, linguistic expressions or propositions to signify different meanings. In other words, metaphor is produced by the rewriting of elements of language which, in the event of enunciation, are (re)dressed with different meanings that designate the space of enunciation and the speaker-condemned. On the other hand, the designation is constituted in the event of the enunciation that names (object, person, etc.), and as such, by apprehending the real, the meaning of the name is given, identifying the named for the subject.

This work, which focuses on the area of Study of Linguistic Processes, in the research line Study of Meaning Processes of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at Mato Grosso State University (UNEMAT), seeks to understand how names of indigenous origin articulate and mean in formations names of cities/municipalities in Mato Grosso made official in the 20th century. For the development of this proposal, we join the theoretical and methodological approach developed by Dias (2016, 2018a, 2018b), in the semantics of enunciation. This theoretical orientation gives us the opportunity to approach the enunciative reasons of the articulations contracted by the nominal formations in the language events that create these names. The perspective of language event is linked to the theoretical contribution of Guimarães (2005a, 2018), in which we also associate to discuss the constitution of the space of enunciation in Brazil. For the analyses, 40 nominal formations were selected that articulate names of indigenous origin in their compositions, considering the different forms of formation: names with simple units, compound names and hybrid names and two nominal formations that appeared in the process of naming and renaming the municipality of São José do Xingu. We used as analytical material a set of excerpts from historiographical texts collected from printed and digital bibliography and excerpts from official texts included in diaries, letters and maps. As an analysis procedure, we mobilized the organization of statements organized in enunciative networks (DIAS, 2018a), taken as a network of meanings, which can demonstrate the heterogeneity of historical and social relations that affect enunciation. As a result, it is intended to demonstrate that the meaning of indigenous names in nominal formations is mobilized by perspectives of meanings that are dispersed between the domains of historical references and enunciative pertinence.

Translation is in everywhere. Today, in a globalized world, we are in contact with translation all the time, and it can be by a specific way or other. Its path and becoming in the history of humanity as an operation that puts different languages in relation, leads us to seek to understand its working and its constitution as a discipline of language studies from different ways and theories. Since Cícero and Saint Jeronimo until the present days, translation has sometimes been outstanded as a challenge to be solved in the fields of Philosophy, Literature and Linguistics, and sometimes, as a definitive solution for communication between peoples and global development. However, translation, as well as any discipline that involves a secular discussion about its characteristics and definitions, imposes its scientific, historical and even philosophical problems and difficulties. On occasion to understand translation from a theoretical and methodological place assumed among differents areas of Linguistic Science, the Semantics of the Event, developed by Guimarães (2002, 2007, 2010, 2017, 2018), the purpose of this work is to investigate, substantiate and support decisive and particular aspects of translation, taking it as a procedure of rewriting by mimetic substitution. In this way, our investigations will take place along a path that aims to discuss the history and the relation among translation, language and language working, bringing translation closer to our theoretical position, considering it as an enunciative event, as an enunciation. Therefore, discussions about some relevant aspects of the semantics of enunciation as event, temporality, enunciation space, enunciative scene and, mainly, text and rewriting, will be frequently present in the course of our work. Also, to give the meaning and define translation in a specific way, we will take ourselves in close dialogue with another areas of observation of language studies developed by Orlandi (2008, 2009, 2012), Eco (2007, 2014), Ricoeur (2011, 2012), Oustinoff (2011), Steiner (2015), Dias (2018), Arrojo (2007) among many other theorists and researchers that will be brought to our discussions. Still, philosophy will allow us to achieve part of our purpose when reflecting on the Aristotelian Mimesis, considering translation as a rewriting by substitution procedure signified as mimetic, moving the meanings of imitation as reproduction to the place of imitation as the production of the new, opening space for discussions on notions such as similarity, difference, appropriation and expropriation. Finally, we will apply this methodological and analytical device, rewriting by mimetic substitution, in analyzes of texts that are widely translated and that produce effects of different meanings for and in the global population, as a means of sustaining its working as a procedure that means translation from a enunciative perspective. This thesis is part of the PPGL Unemat Research Line for the Study of Proceses of Meaning.

This research is inscribed in the Concentration Area "Study of Linguistic Processes", in the research line "Study of Meaning Processes", of the Postgraduate Program Stricto Sensu in Linguistics - PPGL of the University of the State of Mato Grosso - UNEMAT, and aims to develop a study on the process of naming the Brotherhood Nossa Senhora da Boa Morte, formed by slaves and which, originally from Portugal, was established in the Brazilian states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso and Bahia, in the XIX century. The names that designate the black women belonging to the Brotherhood will also be analyzed, as well as the device of the Semantic Domain of Determination (DSD). The analyzes will take place through the Semantics of the Event, a theory developed by Eduardo Guimarães, (1987, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2017, 2018), in Brazil. For Guimarães (207, p. 90), it is a semantics that considers that "the analysis of the meaning of language must be located in the study of enunciation in the event of saying". From this perspective, we analyze the movement of semanticization of names, taking its operation as a way of historical and social determination that produces meanings – designations – for the Brotherhood and its members. The research corpus consists of the following documents available on websites; A Festa da Boa Morte magazine – IPAC2 Notebook, 2011; and minutes of meetings of the Brotherhood of Nossa Senhora da Boa Morte, held at the Brotherhood's headquarters, located at Praça D'Ajuda, s/n in Cachoeira-BA. We understand from the analyzes that the functioning of the name is a way of establishing the relationship between the brotherhood's past and the present of the enunciation, projecting new enunciations and new meanings. We point out that the resistance, which is configured in the enunciation space in which the speakers are managed, means the struggle of the African members of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Good Death. Through the analytical path, we show that the naming process is not something that happens randomly, it takes place in the event of enunciation determined socio-historically.

We are theoretically affiliated with Materialist Discourse Analysis and the History of Linguistic Ideas - HIL to develop our discursive cells and on the discursive object of this work, namely, as fanfictions. The term fanfiction or fanfic (fanfic) English emergence of books of fiction or fiction, is, fan fiction and derivation of texts, films, films, manga, music or musicians and new presentations or continuing other products desired by the fan, using the characters or adding others, such as proceeding with the plot change. They are narrative constructions The fanfictions in other texts and marks are narratives in their writing. Thus, there is no closed discourse in and fanfictions are established through the relationship and interaction with other productions/products. In our work, the authorship process in fanfictions works both through discursive memory and discursive memory, through creativity and new sayings, that is, the subject as author, in the ficwriter-subject position, producing his narrativity based on other texts, but telling his own story, displacing meanings, producing new ones. In view of this, the subject is materialized in the passage of the fanfiction author. We also understand the effects of fan writing meanings on the Nyah!Fanfiction website, the historical process that gave rise to fanfictions, the production of meanings about the ficwriter subject, as well as the functioning of the reader/reviewer subject in the discursive position of beta- reader and, finally, the writing imaginary understood by the Portuguese Lessons section on the website created.

This thesis, inscribed in the research line Study of Discourse Processes, aims to understand the relationship between the subject and the language and its submission to history as a condition for meaning itself and the language itself, to produce its own saying. Emphasizing thus, the real of language (incompleteness) and real of history (contradiction) to then understand the effects of meaning produced in the formulation and circulation of language policies that propose the National Student Performance Exam (ENADE). We will intertwine Pecheutian Discourse Analysis (AD) with the History of Linguistic Ideas (HIL) to accomplish this work, considering the history of language policies written and legitimated by the School and the State. Our goal, through the discursive bias, is to understand the meanings put into operation by the historicity that instituted the evaluation proposal of Enade. Thus, we formulate the following questions What sense effects are produced in the installation of the laws that order this process? What is the imaginary profile of the academic subject, and of the language (reading, writing) that the evaluation process produces? Thus, based on these and other questions, we built our corpus by analyzing the linguistic/discursive materiality of Law No. 10.861/2004, of Ordinance No. 493/ Inep/2017, of the National Curricular Guidelines of the Courses of Letters in Brazil, and how they affect the constitution of the Enade Test (2017), and finally, we will understand the dissemination of the results of the evaluation in advertisements on institutional websites and by the media. Throughout our work we will understand how the meanings are constructed by the notions of language, subject, reading, writing, conceived by the documents of jurisdiction of the language, thus realizing how such concepts can be re-signified by AD by the play between paraphrase and polysemy in the process of signification of the subjects and the language. We make this journey considering the orders of the real of language and history, understanding the non-linearity and literality of the meanings, the incompleteness, opacity, and non-transparency of language; the decentering of the subject, by historical-ideological subjection and discursive memory, which shapes all speech, as advocated by Gadet and Pêcheux (2004). Thus, entering the discursivities of language policies enables us to understand the ideological effects, the unspoken that constitute them, and that install senses by/for subjects.

This work, inscribed in the research line of Significance Processes Studies of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT), aims to study the reflexivity attributed to the pronoun SE as the product of the dynamics of enunciative contextualization’s in which it is inserted. The development of this research is based on Antoine Culioli's Theory of Enunciative Predicative Operations (CULIOLI, 1990, 1999a, 1999b). In this way, we intend to observe how the (reflexive) value of the unit is determined due to the ways in which it is put into relation with other units. In this case, we intend to visualize the process by which a given content of thought takes shape and is transformed into representation in the intersubjective relation. We dissociated our attention, in this case, from approaches of static analysis of language and prioritized taking the verbal material as a trace of construction of meaning. Therefore, we constituted a corpus with four occurrences collected from the electronic Portuguese Corpus. The methodology was supported on the reformulation activity, also called gloss or paraphrase (FRANCKEL, 2011; FUCHS, 1985). Through reformulation procedures, we were able to draft a system of metalinguistic representation for the functioning of SE in which we searched to emphasize the hypothesis that reflexivity in language is not exclusive to SE, as it sometimes may seem to be. We observed that, in the utterances studied, the reflexivity of SE is dependent on the assertion marks of the enclosing context that allows moving from a possible reflexivity (predicate projection) to a de facto reflexivity (predicate occurrence). When we emphasize, in this direction, the fact that notional, syntactic and enunciative relations support the values that emerge in language, but not only, we notice that other values are not always visible. Having said that, we insist that the reflexive value is based on the subjects' variable experience, and that they project such value on the SE, in the situation of production and interpretation of texts, that is, in the situation of language practice. We conclude that the experience (variable) of the enunciating subjects with the world and with language results in the projection of the reflexive value on the SE, although this projection is not always confirmed by the language practice of the subjects themselves who, when dealing with the empirical (properties of semantic notions; relationship between semantic notions; relationship between the self and the other), in each particular dialogue situation, they sometimes find obstacles to the construction of their projections about how the relationship between the world is organized (psychosocial properties) and the language.

This research is based on the theoretical constructs of Educational Sociolinguistics, inserted in the Research Line Study of Processes of Variation and Change, to which the research line is part of the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Linguistics at the State University of Mato Gross (UNEMAT). The theoretical framework of this study defends the teaching of Linguistic Variation in Teaching and its main objective is to investigate and understand how the approach of Linguistic Variation occurs in the teaching and learning process of the Portuguese Language, based on the analysis in Portuguese Language Textbooks from High School used in public schools in the State of Mato Grosso. Thus, two corpora were analyzed, composed of the Official Documents Guiding the Teaching of Portuguese Language in Brazil and the Textbooks of Portuguese Language indicated for High School, in PNLD 2016. For the analysis of the Guiding Documents for Teaching, five (5) documents were considered: the Political Pedagogical Project, National Curriculum Parameters, Document for Basic Education of the State of Mato Grosso (DRC-MT), National Book and Didactic Material Program (PNLD) and Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC). In the same way, eleven (11) collections of teaching materials were analyzed, with the purpose of verifying how linguistic variation is approached in the theoretical part of contents and activities. Thus, the analysis of teaching materials was carried out following a script consisting of five (5) open questions, adapted to the studies by Lima (2014). The basis of this research is related to the studies by Alkmim (2001); Bagno (1999, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2013,2015); Bortoni-Ricardo (2004, 2005, 2014); Calvet (2002); Faraco (2008, 2013, 2015); Lima (2014); Lucchesi (2015); Martins et al (2016); Mollica (2003); Tarallo (1985) and Labov (1972). This is a descriptive, qualitative research, which references its characteristics, qualities and peculiarities through investigation, observation, data collection and evaluation. The result of this Thesis made it possible to extract and obtain the following results: a) the Official Documents Guiding the Teaching and Learning of Portuguese Language are not sufficiently elucidative and instructive regarding the approach of teaching Sociolinguistics and Linguistic Variety in teaching material, b) in general, in most cases, textbook collections propose explanatory content and activities, but they cannot shrewdly clarify language teaching and especially linguistic variation, that is, being guided by theoretical explanation and without "depth ” pedagogical, being also proposed in single chapters, and always comparing with normative prescriptions of the language, in what is right or wrong, beautiful or ugly, usual and unusual. Therefore, given these results, the indispensability of greater investment in teacher training and qualification is evident; re-elaboration of Teaching Guidance Documents to provide a more enlightening and illustrative content; and finally, the updating, increment and innovation of teaching materials, providing opportunities for a more understandable writing about the teaching of Language and Linguistic Variation.

This work aims to analyze, through the perspective of the Theory of Complex Dynamical Systems (HOLLAND, 1995; LARSEN-FREEMAN & CAMERON, 2008; PAIVA, 2011; MORIN, 2013; LARSEN-FREEMAN, 2017), the dynamics of the learning process of Portuguese as a host language (PLAc) in an immersion context experienced by four Haitians, on the Brazil-Bolivia border, in the city of Cáceres - Mato Grosso State. The interest in developing this study emerged as a result of the complexity involved, in the context of immersion, the learning of Portuguese as a host language, often mediated by digital technologies. The learning of an additional language is investigated as a pathway of hostage and social interaction, considering the difficulties of those people in seeking protection and universal human rights, such as freedom, participation, and social justice. In this perspective, the research inserts the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT) and Caceres city as necessary objects to understand to what extent learning Portuguese as a Host Language (PLAc) works for people who had to leave their country of origin, to experience a diverse of experiences in Brazil. To carry out this case study, qualitative, of an interpretive nature, the collection was done through the Google Forms platform, with interviews and questionnaires with four Haitians, their teachers, and their employers. In addition, the four Haitians were observed in the Portuguese classes for Foreigners (PPE) at UNEMAT, and in theoretical and practical classes at the Center for Youth and Adult Education (CEJA) and the National Industrial Learning Service (SENAI). Data analysis pointed out how the learning dynamics occurred in different spheres of coexistence in which the Haitians participated, and allowed us to observe that there is an emergence of Portuguese learning opportunities for foreigners in Caceres, which would contribute to the effective linguistic and humanitarian reception of this invisible part of society that needs fundamental benefits for its survival. The self-organization and adaptation of Haitians favored learning a new language and living with Brazilians, even with the absence of public policies that guarantee the human rights of these people that were forced into migration processes, verified in the last decade on the Brazil-Bolivia border.

This thesis is part of the research line Study of Discursive Processes in the area of concentration Study of Linguistic Processes of the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Linguistics, of the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT), as well as the theoretical assumptions of Analysis of French Discourse developed in France by Michel Pêcheux and, in Brazil, by Eni Orlandi. In this research, there is an articulation with the History of Linguistic Ideas because it is a theoretical area that deals with the history of teaching in the Brazilian space. The research focuses on the production conditions of Language Courses, with the objective of understanding their relationship with the teaching of writing. In this direction, we also seek to understand how the National Curriculum Guidelines – DCNs that are textualized in the curricula through the Pedagogical Projects, materialized in the syllabi, textualize the issue of language, text and writing. Therefore, the analysis focuses on broad production conditions such as the constitution of Literature courses and the training of Portuguese language teachers that is sustained by the State's discourse, as demonstrated by the analyses. In this way, we analyzed the excerpts from the PPCs, that is, from the syllabi of disciplines that are related to wording, from six Language courses at both State and Federal Universities, representing all Brazilian regions. These production conditions are discourses that produce meanings about language and its teaching, particularly, about the way of conceiving writing and its teaching. As part of the production conditions for the teaching of writing to happen in a meaningful way, training in Letters enrolls the teacher in one or another discursive training, reflecting, through the identification process, the way in which this will lead, at school, the work with the written. In that regard, we realize that Language courses are far from offering training that places the subject/teacher in the position of someone who understands the importance of working with (written) language beyond textbooks and manuals instituted by/in public policies , not silencing writing as a condition for teaching the structure of the official language, as the analyzes have shown, because after all, writing, through the relationship between language and history, textualizes meanings, causes ruptures, constituting the subject.

This thesis presents a description of the phonetic and phonological aspects of the Kithãuhlu language, one of the languages of the Nambikwara linguistic family. According to Costa (2009), they are distributed in several villages, in the southern region of the Sararé Indigenous Land, near the towns of Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade and Comodoro. However, most of its people are located in the villages: "Campos Novos, Jacaré, Camararé, Cabeceira do Mutum and Aldeia Vinte". The other peoples are located in the villages: "Barracão Queimado, Novo Chefão, Cabeceira, Buritizal do Zezinho, Central, Branca, Serra Azul, Barro Branco and Boqueirão". The language spoken by the Kithãuhlu is one of the languages of this linguistic family, which needs studies, especially because there are still speakers and the language still exercises full communicative function among their respective people. Whit that in mind, we understand that the materiality of the language is a resource of paramount importance for the extensive knowledge and preservation of phonological aspects of languages, as well as for the Kithãuhlu culture. We aspire, in this work, to analyze and describe phonetic and phonological aspects of this language, with the main objective of contributing to its linguistic knowledge. For the analysis of this research we proposed to perform a specific survey of the vowel and consonant sounds of the language, in addition to performing a phonemic analysis of the sounds. We also present their possible syllabic types, according to what was proposed by Blevins (2006). For the identification of phonemes and allophones, in the language, we used first-hand phonetic data collection, phonetically transcribed according to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), together with a technical adaptation on the keyboard of our notebook, in addition to using the SILDoulosIPA computer font type, which follows the IPA standard. For the analysis, we started from the studies of Pike (1971), Yip (2002) and Blevins (2006). On the structuralist approach, Cagliari (2002, p. 20) explains that it "always departs from the particular to the general, from the fact to the system, from the phonetic reality to the phonological interpretation." In our data, 72 phonetic and 43 phonological vowels were found, which are performed as oral, nasal, laryngeal, laryngeal, laryngeal vowels, in addition to, in most of them, three distinct tones. The consonantal system has a number of 39 phonetic consonants and 21 phonological consonants. Regarding syllabic types, in the Kithãuhlu language, we found occurences of eight open and two closed syllables.

Colombian Sign Language – LSC presents a wide range of variations in its linguistic repertoire, which, as in other languages, is not limited to a mere follow-up to a standard language. The history of Colombian sign language shows a multiplicity of linguistic repertoires that can be observed in different regions and in the linguistic traits of each speaker. In addition, each deaf person has a different linguistic experience that involves different repertoires. This research aims to review the concept of linguistic repertoire, as well as bilingualism, and see how the latter is conceived in classrooms to then propose a bilingual teaching method for the deaf that involves all of their repertoire (GUMPERZ, 1965), i.e. , the use of a bank of linguistic forms in the course of a socially meaningful interaction. Due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, we chose to carry out a literature review related to the linguistic repertoire, bilingual education for the deaf and other perspectives that encourage the use of linguistic resources and transform it into a bibliographical research, which allows the identification of the documentary source to answer certain questions. (BARRAZA, 2014). The selection of articles was intentional and we sought at the beginning to define the concept of bilingualism, as well as the Colombian laws that guide bilingual education, which imposes the use of a language and the division of languages between first and second languages. Then we define the concept of linguistic repertoire and new linguistic perspectives, among which we find dynamic bilingualism. Finally, we present a linguistic description of Colombian Sign Language, thus demonstrating that it is a natural language. Reflections on the bilingual education of the deaf and the linguistic repertoire allowed us to propose a teaching method that: validates the repertoires in the classroom, encourages the use of visual resources that allow understanding and encourages the use of multimodal practices as legitimizing the linguistic repertoires of the deaf within the educational process. The interlocution between linguistic theories and the method of bilingual education for the deaf leaves the door open for new understandings and research proposals that allow for a deeper understanding of the theme of bilingual education for the deaf.

This research is part of the area of Study of Linguistic Processes and the line of research Study of the Meaning Processes of the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Linguistics at UNEMAT, and proposes to describe and analyze the construction of the meanings of words and expressions in advertising texts of language schools in the lights of the Theory of Semantic Blocks, examining how the argumentative prefigurations of the relationship between school X and knowledge of the English language associated with linguistic relationship occurs and imagery. This research is based on studies by Ducrot (1987, 1996, 1988, 2002, 2009c), Carel and Ducrot (2005), Carel and Machado (2016), Carel and Gomes (2019), Carel (2001b, 2011, 2020, 2021a, 2021d), Barbisan (2002,2013), Freitas (2006), Chaise and Freitas (2022), Freitas and Silva (2020), Gomes (2020 and 2021), among other authors who conceive the intralinguistic relationships and deals with language as an argumentative possibility, as a product of the use of language, as an enunciation. At this point, we understand that the meaning is in the speech — representation of the utterance that is fundamentally given by intralinguistic relations, or, entanglements that occurs by combining words with each other and with others in which builds the meaning of discursive manifestation. In this research, we adopted the methodologic procedures which are taken as descriptive, bibliographic and documentary, with a qualitative approach, according to the points of view of these authors. This research arises from the intertwining of the researcher’s teaching practice that recognizes the relevance of this study, which places in the scientific space a timid contribution to enunciative studies from the perspective of Linguistic Semantics, given the need to think of linguistics as an important lens for understanding the world by the use of language, by its own materiality, as an independent tool for the construction of the meaning of discourse, through intralinguistic relations. From this entanglement emerges the theme of this thesis: the semantic-argumentative study of the meanings of words and expressions in publicity texts of English courses in the light of Block Theory Semantics — (TBS). The analytical corpus of the thesis consists of 04 advertising texts from language schools, available on the internet. Conceiving the text, according to Ducrot and Carel (2005) as a semantic block, whose meaning is guided by donc connectors (therefore), pourtant (however), we propose to systematize and apply the concepts of TBS, using the semantic description of the selected texts, in order to account for the meaning of speech. We conceive that in addition to verbal elements, images are also paraphrasable argumentative possibilities. Through the analysis of selective advertising texts, we could observe that in the advertisements there are metaphorical and paraphrastic effects by the recurrence of meaning of words and images, whose meanings produce other discourses, echoes, that is, the interlocutor’s points of view, constructed by chains of arguments that sometimes lead to SUCCESS and sometimes to FAILURE in the domain of the English language.

This thesis work, which is part of the research line of the Study of Discursive Processes, of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at UNEMAT, aims to analyze, from the theoretical perspective of materialist Discourse Analysis, the meanings produced about the Black people in/through contemporary advertising discourse, from advertisements and advertising pieces interpreted as racist, which were circulated in digital media: news websites and blogs, social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and video platforms such as YouTube. First, we made a journey through the historical production conditions of the institutionalization of advertising and propaganda in Brazil, seeking to understand the process of constitution of meanings about black people and the imaginary that sustains their erasure in the advertising space. Under current production conditions, we reflect on how the circulation of digital produces new forms of subjection of the black subject and new relationships between companies, institutions and subjects, affecting consumption practices. In a second moment, we propose an analytical device that allows us to think about the discursive functioning of stereotyping that, through Discourse Analysis, is constituted in the relationship with interdiscourse, producing the stabilization of meanings about blacks. This reflection is necessary, as we understand that many meanings produced about black people in the analyzed clippings occur through stereotypes. Then, from the interpretation gestures that give visibility to the effects of racism senses in the advertising discourse, we analyze the way in which language, subject and history are articulated in the production of meanings about black people in advertising pieces and advertisements that make up our corpus. We also analyze the functioning of the imaginary formations that produce the effect of intentionality of the subjects and sustain the illusion of control of the senses by their enunciators, companies, brands and institutions, textualized as apology, retraction, justification for the accusations of racism. . The analysis gestures that we carried out on the meanings that are being produced about the black by the advertising discourse, in current production conditions, showed us that there are, in the analyzed materials, effects of meanings of racism that are updated from a memory of a slave country, historically-ideologically constituted as racist, which reinforces the division between subjects and senses.

This thesis, included in the research line Studies of Discursive Processes, of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the Federal University of Estado de Mato Grosso (PPGL/UNEMAT), affiliated with the Materialist Discourse Analysis, formulated by Pêcheux and other researchers, in France, and initially developed by Eni Orlandi, in Brazil, it aims to understand the functioning of the authorship of the deaf subject in the deaf literature produced in Portuguese. In this way, we formulate the following questions: What makes the production of deaf literature written in Portuguese possible and what makes it possible? How are Libras and the deaf subject signified, symbolized in this space of interpretation that is deaf literary discursivity? What is the imaginary projection of your readership? Thus, from these and other questions we built our corpus, analyzing the linguistic/discursive materialities that comprise deaf Cinderella (HESSEL; ROSA; KARNOPP, 2003a), deaf Rapunzel (SILVEIRA; ROSA; KARNOPP, 2003b), Adam and Eve (KARNOPP; ROSA, 2005a) and Patinho Surdo (KARNOPP; ROSA, 2005b), were produced during the officialization process, which lasted from 2002 (year of the Libras Law) to 2005 (year of regulation of the law through Decree nº. 5626/ 2005) and in the sequel, Santa Claus' magic gloves (KLEIN; MOURÃO, 2012), A fable of Noah's ark (MOURÃO, 2014) and The Christmas stars (KLEIN; STROBEL, 2015), which were produced after Institutionalization. of the undergraduate course in Letters-Libras that began in 2006.Throughout our work, we understand that the peculiar functioning of the authorship of deaf subjects in deaf literature written in Portuguese takes place in the presence of the hearing subject as a necessary condition for the production of meanings. These authors seek to make Libras known, to give visibility to the difference, without erasing it. Although, language policies point in the opposite direction, legitimizing only the standard written form, Portuguese as the official language; the entire text is showing Libras as a significant materiality that appears as marks, materialized in colors, in signed drawings, in the writing of signs, in the verbal of the Portuguese language, among others. In this way, the authors imaginatively project the place of this other, the reader, by bringing Libras as a significant materiality. There we have the identification process, the reader-effect: the hearing reader will know a little more about this language and about the subject who speaks it, and the deaf subject will identify when he sees the marks of Libras. This reader effect is considered when constructing authorship. Thus, the deaf subject occupies a position and means himself in/through the language; and it is through it, the language, that he becomes a subject of saying, an enunciating subject. He ceases to be that subject who is spoken and starts to occupy the position of author, of the one who writes.

The education of the deaf nowadays has been the object of study in the various spheres of academic knowledge, provoking deep discussions and advances on this topic. This research is linked to the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics, in the research line Study of Descriptive Processes, Analysis and Documentation of Indigenous Languages, This research aimed to make a comparative analysis among the Paiter Surui signs recorded in the studies of Costa (2017), Gregianini (2017), and Eler (2020) with signs of other sign languages of official signs between them, ASL and Libras. he problem raised on the subject is: Do the Paiter Suruí signs recorded in these studies present the same structure of signs of other sign languages? The research is based on Stokoe's linguistic studies from the 1960’s that led to the understanding and recognition of sign languages as natural languages of the deaf. The comparative studies among these sign languages are based on Brentari (1998; 2010; 2012) Quadros (2019), Quadros and Karnopp (2004) and Ferreira (2010). These studies refer to phonetics and phonology in sign languages. Brentari(1998), when describing the phonological structure in the signs formation, taking as a parameter the ASL, divided it into eight types of signs, forming a basic set necessary to describe the structure of any complete phonological set model for the sign-based languages. Studies of manual joints and phonological description in the structure of signs will be based on Crasborn (2012). To support the discussion on the importance of the registration of unofficial languages, taking into account the development of a language of deaf groups isolated from large urban centers, we sought studies carried out with groups of sign language users of local sign languages. The methodological path followed the research steps, being characterized in a case study, of bibliographic character with a look at the methodologies of post-critical research of Meyer and Paraíso (2012) that with a new and free way to forward their research, it recognizes a way to walk new paths that enable the production of knowledge from the issues that motivated this research. Among the eight characteristics cited by Brentari we found in the Paiter Suruí signs, classifying signs, although there were few classifying forms found, this may be due to the fact that we have few registered signs. The pandemic prevented visits in the village and the progress of a study project with this group of deaf indigenous people. If we were present in the field research we might already have an answer to a question like this, of the presence of a greater number of classifiers in the speeches of these indigenous peoples. Of the eight characteristics that Brentari (1998) addressed five were identified in the SPS, namely: the signs performed with one hand; the second, the signs performed with both hands; the signs with loanwords; Signs with agreement affixation in the compounds and classifying forms. In view of the above, we aim to contribute to the cultural and linguistic growth of the indigenous deaf community. We introduce linguistic contributions to the languages of local signs that are in the phase of recognition of their linguistic status.

Mostrar Abstract

The present work is part of the area of concentration Study of Linguistic Processes and the line of research Study of Discursive Processes, of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics (PPGL), of the Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (UNEMAT). We aimed to understand the meanings in circulation about the pioneer migrant woman Sinopense. In order to do so, we took as language/analysis material, newspapers that circulated in the seventies (foundational period of the city) and that textualize different modes of meaning for this woman. We also seek to understand, through Leni Chiarello Ziliotto's work The Shine of Immortal Stars: Breakthrough the Earth and Promote Life, the way in which the pioneer woman, when witnessing her experiences, when narrating her stories during the period of (re)occupation of the city, if it means/meaning, producing effects of identification in this space of existence. In this sense, from the materiality of analysis, we seek to reflect on the subject and its relationship with discursive memory and ideology. We assume it is relevant to think about this relationship, because when we join Discourse Analysis, a materialist theory, we are considering meaning as a relationship between language, subject and history (Orlandi, 2015). In order to do so, we seek to understand the testimonies of pioneer women (published in the work of Leni Ziliotto) and the way in which the printed media means/meaned the pioneer woman (from the newspapers), as textualizations that result from meanings already given/meaning historically, because as Pêcheux (2014 [1975]) shows us when conceptualizing the interdiscourse, “there is something that speaks before, elsewhere and independently”, it is the already-said that crosses the memory of the saying and that, thus, makes us to think about the illusion of freedom in the constitution of the subject, more specifically, in the decentering of this subject who, although not owning himself, has the illusion of being the origin of the saying. Therefore, in this quest to understand the meanings in the discourse about and of the Sinopese pioneer woman, we take into account that ideology produces the erasure of the inscription of language in history (under the effect of the evidence of meaning as transparent). In this sense, we traced a path of historicization in relation to the ways in which women were signified throughout history, bringing reflections on the way in which capitalism, patriarchy and religious discourse produced meanings in relation to women, because, according to Orlandi (2015) language only makes sense because it is inscribed in history. This history, however, is not thought of in chronological order, just as the memory that crosses the subject is not configured in a linearity, it is a memory with holes, which produces the marks of oblivion. In this direction, when we think about the effects of meanings produced from the testimonies of pioneer women, we point to the failure (of the language), the contradiction, to the fact that identification is a movement in history (Orlandi, 2012), in which both the subjects and the senses (re/un)make themselves in the act of enunciation. Therefore, this work – by establishing a relationship between subject, language and history – puts us in front of the confrontation between the stabilized and the multiplicity of meanings (drifting), in a space strongly governed by the symbolization of power relations.
