RESUMO:

This work focuses on a critical-analytical study of narrative strategies and approaches to cultural, social and identity themes inscribed in the novel AS MULHERES DE MEU PAI   by Angolan writer Agualusa (2007). The objective is, therefore, to expand the critical discussions about the novel, in relation to Literature, aesthetics, social life and identity in post-colonialism. It aims to reflect on the literature in post-colonial spaces; examine how the experiences of the characters of the work are configured in the reconstruction of the past, allowing the (re) construction of discourses about the colonialist and anti-colonialist system; identify the process of reorganizing the Angolan identity; to highlight the literary resources used to express tradition as a form of cultural, political and social resistance in the post-colonial reality and to analyze the social situation of Angolan women through a historical-social panorama. The research methodology is bibliographic and literary analysis. The research is characterized, predominantly, as bibliographic and analytical, supported theoretically in studies selected from the themes detected in the reading and in the detailed study of the corpus. For issues concerning memory, identity and culture, support was sought in Le Goff (2005), Bauman (2005), Candau (2019), Hall (2013 and 205), Ricouer (2007), Bhabha (2013), Jobim (2013), Ricoeur ( 2007);as for social representation in the literature, support in studies carried out by Cortázar ( 1993), Candido (1989 and 1995), Abdala Júnior (2007), Bosi (2005, 2013), Aristóteles (1966), Ginzburg (2007), Rocha (2015), Goldman (1979), Canclini (2007); for the discussion of the architecture and composition of the romantic genre, as well as its origin and peculiarities, in Moisés (2006), Bakhtin (1988 and 1997), Rosenfeld (1996), Forster (2005), Muir (1988), Reuter (2004) , Lukács (2000 and 2011), Candido (1976), Hutcheon (1991); detailing its structure, the studies of Leite (2003), Walter Benjamin (1994), Carvalho (1981), Dal Farra (1978), Adorno (2003), Barthes (2011); Antonio Candido (1987) and Brait (1985), Borges Filho (2005), Todorov (2006); who present considerations about the elaboration of the novel's characters; Dimas (1985), Bachelard (2000), Lins (1976) who delve deeper into space research; Nunes (1988) on the temporal category, Bakhtin (1988) that deals with the inseparability of temporal and spatial aspects in the narrative; and, regarding Angolan literature, Inocência Mata (1993, 2007, 2012), the studies organized by Rita Chaves, Tania Macedo and Rejane Vecchia (2007), Everdosa (1963, 1979), Candido (2000), Cardoso (2009), Ana Paula Tavares (1999), Chaves (1999), Leite (2012) Candido, (2004,2007), Compagnon (1999).
