Presentation

Electrical Engineering is the branch of engineering that studies electrical energy, its properties and also electromagnetism.

The main assignment of the Electrical Engineer is to design and build power plants (such as hydroelectric, nuclear and thermoelectric), transmission lines and electrical systems in general, such as electric motors, electric vehicles, machines, among others.

In the career of an Electrical Engineer, this professional will be able to choose between two main areas of activity: Electrotechnics (Heavy Electrical Engineering) and Electronics (Precision Electrical Engineering).

In the field of Electrotechnical activity, the professional will work by designing and supporting large systems, such as power plants, heavy electric motors and industrial electrical installations.

In the area of Electronics, the electrical engineer will work on smaller and more accurate systems, such as machines and electronic circuits, small robots and electronic control systems.

To be successful in the course, it is important to have an affinity with Physics and Mathematics.

The interested party must also like to solve problems and invest in the solution found.

The work of an engineer is not immediate and requires patience, dedication and organization.

Although the public sector is dominant in terms of number of jobs, there is room for electrical engineers in private companies.

The work focuses on industries, service provision and project design.
