RESUMO:

This Master’s Thesis is the result of research carried out in the Professional Master's Degree in History Teaching (ProfHistória) at the State University of Mato Grosso/UNEMAT, Cáceres Campus, and its general objective is to analyze how the guidelines regarding the teaching of local history present in the Document of Curricular Reference for Mato Grosso (DRC-MT) are articulated in the structured teaching material of this state. This teaching material is the result of a partnership between the State Department of Education of Mato Grosso/SEDUC and Fundação Getúlio Vargas/FGV and it is offered to students in the state education network. As specific objectives, the proposal is to identify how local history is inserted in the analyzed document; and, mainly, identify the social place occupied by the historical subjects of Mato Grosso (indigenous, women, black people, quilombolas, migrants, among others) in this didactic-pedagogical resource, taking into account the importance of these social groups for the historical formation from the Midwest region. As methodological procedures, we opted for qualitative research that considers as a source of analysis four produced collections specifically for the final years of Elementary School. For this purpose, we established a dialogue about the conceptions and uses of teaching materials based on the theoretical support of Circe Bittencourt (2008), with attention to the categories of “ideal textbook” for the production of historical knowledge by Jörn Rüsen (2011). At the end of the research, we sought to understand how the structured material contributes to the teaching of History in Mato Grosso, considering that the Curricular Reference Document (DRC-MT) has a normative function in the State. In addition to this aspect, the possibilities for studying local and regional history in the classroom offered to teachers and young students in the basic education network through their official materials are analyzed.
