RESUMO:

In this research, the challenges faced by young students and the school during Emergency Remote Education (ERE) were investigated, focusing on the Portuguese Language (LP) subject and how Digital Technologies (DT) were combined in this context. The study involved eight (8) young people from the 3rd year of high school at Escola Estadual Oscar Soares, in Juara-MT, and adopted qualitative research (Bortoni-Ricardo, 2008), with an emphasis on ethnographic research. (Oliveira, 2016). The main objective was to understand how DT was integrated into PL teaching at ERE, focusing on young people's narrative excerpts. The theoretical contribution included the concept of Emergency Remote Teaching, (Paiva, 2018), Digital Technologies and the teaching of the Portuguese Language, (Barton; Lee, 2015), (Ribeiro, 2013), (Coscarelli, 2016), (Ribeiro; Coscarelli , 2023) among others. Data were collected through recorded and transcribed narrative interviews, with a script refined after pilot experiments. To analyze the data, we referred to the assumptions of interpretivism (Moita Lopes, 2019), since in this approach the researcher plays an active role as an interpreter, who sought a deep understanding of the experiences of young people during the ERE. And as results we can point to the relevance of the continued use of DT after the pandemic, which includes communication applications, online learning platforms, videoconferences and immersive technologies such as virtual and augmented reality. Young people's narratives demonstrate a growing trend of actively searching for information and educational resources on social networks and apps. They use these platforms as sources of knowledge and study tools, which highlights the importance of these technologies in their learning routines. Based on this research, researchers gained a deeper understanding of how technology makes a difference in education and the lives of young people. This raises important questions about the balance between using technology for learning and entertainment, as well as the ongoing need to develop critical media skills and digital literacy.
