INFLUENCES OF DIGITAL MEDIA ON THE COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN: AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR AND LEARNING
Digital media, Cognitive developments, Learning
Technological evolution has brought to humanity facilities for communication, work and entertainment. In this way, a new generation emerges, which evolves along with technologies, modifying the way of communication, thinking and acting, changing the traditional methods of learning, as well as changing the way children play. Playful games and manual work are the most affected, as they are being forgotten, due to the adults' lack of time to accompany and teach, because [the games] need to be taught, a role that the media are occupying. Digital media are being used to fill this lack of attention. In this way, children are exchanging playful games for electronic games, drawings, films, among many other options that digital media propose. In this research, I will try to understand the effects of digital media on the behavior of elementary school students, as we know that it is at this stage that the maturation process begins. Buddemeier (2010) warns against the early use of these new technologies, as it can lead to a blockage in linguistic abilities, which, once obstructed, cannot be recovered.
