We are aware of the barriers faced by blind and visually impaired students enrolled in regular schools so that they have access to quality education based on equal opportunities for all. The computer equipped with a screen reader presents itself as an important tool capable of alleviating such barriers, providing the blind student with the ability to have access to the same content presented to all other students. Supported by such statements, we present this work as a result of our master's research in inclusive education offered by PROFEI, which aimed to analyze how the mediation of the teaching-learning process of visually impaired and blind students enrolled in state schools located in the municipalities in Estremo Norte do Mato Grosso for the use of computers equipped with screen reader programs, and what is the importance of this knowledge in the teaching-learning process of these students in the regular classroom. This research is characterized as a qualitative and exploratory approach, having action research as a method of investigation. We rely on research by Carvalho (2020), Farias (2019), Wandermurem (2016), Preti 2012), among other diverse works that we take as a theoretical basis for our foundation. The investigation took place in two schools in the extreme north of Mato Grosso with teachers from the Multifunctional Resource Room (SRM), regular classroom teachers, managers and two blind students enrolled in these educational institutions. Data collection took place through interviews, which were carried out via Google Meet, recorded and then transcribed for interpretation and analysis, with the speeches of the investigated subjects being presented, as well as the analysis of the discourses throughout the chapters of this work. In view of the data presented, it was possible to verify that the lack of training/training of educators, both in the regular classroom and in the SRM, stands out as the greatest obstacle to the mediation of teaching-learning for blind students in the investigated schools. We also present in the context of this research, our proposal for continuing education for teachers and family members that took place during the investigation and is presented as an educational product required as part of the activities established for the conclusion of the work. And finally, we present considerations about the results obtained and what needs to be promoted for the realization of an inclusive school.
