RESUMO:

The expansion of cities with inadequate urban standards has caused the degradation of water resources by modifying aquatic ecosystems, making management measures necessary to recover these environments and the ecosystem services they provide. Among the possible measures, Nature-Based Solutions (SbN) when applied in urban river basins can help minimize or reverse these processes of degradation of water resources. This work's main objective is to propose the implementation of a linear park incorporating SbN techniques in the Urubu stream watershed, Cuiabá – Mato Grosso. Methodologically, bibliographical research was carried out covering: current legislation on the management of water resources, reference cases of linear parks implemented in Brazil, which served as a basis for the proposed linear park implementation plan. The diagnosis of the Urubu stream watershed was also carried out using the VERAH method, proposed by Oliveira et al. (2008) analyzing environmental aspects regarding vegetation, erosion, solid waste, water and housing. Primary and secondary data collections were also carried out regarding physical variables and on-site visits. The results demonstrated that the incorporation of SbN in linear parks improves the water infiltration and retention capacity in the river basin. The understanding of linear parks as Nature-based Solutions (SbN) for the management of water resources in urban river basins, combined with public policies for the revitalization of rivers and streams, can help municipal public authorities in mitigating the deleterious effects of urbanization without planning. We believe that the incorporation of SbN techniques in linear parks can be an important instrument in the management of water resources in urban river basins, ensuring the protection of urban streams.
