Water is the source of life for all living beings. Water is a necessary element for our survival, if not the most important. Without it, we would never live. Such an incisive statement is part of common sense, however, it is never too much production of knowledge on the subject at hand. The present dissertation had as object of study the "Construction of a didactic booklet for elementary school students I and II in the urban region of the municipality of Santarém-PA", mainly due to the need to elaborate material that can, in a certain way, sensitize the public involved with regard to the theme addressed, for example, the rational use of water. To this end, materials were collected through bibliographic research in magazines, field visits, periodicals, newspapers, interviews, books, supporting the investigation plan in the development of the research. These data come from environments such as the Secretary of Agriculture of the State of Pará; Secretary of State for Sustainable Economic Development (SDS); Environmental Resources Information Center (EPAGRI-CIRAM); Center for Applied Teaching and Research (CEPA); Civil defense (DEC); Ministry of the Environment (MMA) National Water Agency (ANA); Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE); State Water Resources Council (CERH); Northern Region Water Resources Information System (SNIRHRN); Water and Sewage Company (CASANPA) and Municipal Department of Education (SEMED).

This extensive bibliographic review, mainly in the surrounding of the state's political environment, was necessary to achieve the main objective, already presented: construction of a booklet for the intended purposes. According to the results obtained and after visits to the municipal elementary schools, School of the Park and School of the Forest with the students, the proposed material was elaborated. This study had as its core concern, the contribution to the formation of conscious citizens, with the aim of reinforcing the idea, the responsibility of each one of us, to make this planet a place where people can live with dignity because, being Pará, a state that stands out for its expressive cultural and natural riches, its mineral diversity, and vast hydrographic network, only daily actions will be conquered with the adoption of correct habits. Also, environmental education issues were presented to teachers and students of the municipal public network of Santarém in a continuous and participatory process that stimulated socio-environmental behavior change through playful activities, that is, each teacher, within the specificity of his/her area, can adapt the treatment of the contents to contemplate the Environment-Water Resources theme, as well as the other cross-cutting themes.

In conclusion, concrete environmental education is an action of society as a whole, seeking the conservation of the environment to ensure the protection of biodiversity since it concerns all existing forms in a medium.
