RESUMO:

The seat of the municipality of Altamira, due to the implementation of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant – UHE Belo Monte, suffered the impacts arising from the use and disorderly occupation of the geomorphological compartments of the municipal seat, where the mitigating measures of sanitation and compensatory actions for modifying the landscape of the city's three urban streams (Altamira, Ambé and Panelas) did not contribute to improving their respective water capacities. In this sense, correlating the temporality and spatiality of data and metadata provided by official government sources with the geoprocessing of images with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and spectral bands of the sensors installed on the LandSat and PlanetScope satellites, it is sought to evaluate the hydromorphological impacts of land use and occupation in the Altamira stream basin, whose urban area comprised the largest number of properties relocated at the time of the installation of the Belo Monte HPP, using the interpretation model outlined by the multilevel classification system of land cover and use recommended by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics – IBGE. From this study, until the present moment of the research, it was possible to correlate land cover data of this hydrographic basin, with its respective surface runoff capacity for the recurrence times of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 years, allowing this form, an evaluative temporal analysis of the relationship between changes in effective precipitation and their respective changes in land use.
