RESUMO:

Currently, much is discussed about the development of policies related to the environment and water resources. However, the implementation of such policies is a constant challenge, mainly to build a democracy that covers public problems with great social participation. This work aims to analyze the policies aimed at the management of the Queima-Pé river sub-basin, located in the city of Tangará da Serra - MT, in order to evaluate the quality and quantity of available water. A review was carried out on the national and state water resources policies, as well as on the municipal management present in the sub-basin. The research had as methodological procedure the case study, of the qualitative, descriptive and exploratory nature. To explore the theme, documents and minutes of the Sepotuba River Basin Committee (CBH Sepotuba) were consulted, questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were applied with actors involved in the direct use and conservation of the Queima-Pé River. At the end of the research, a product will be developed to assist in the decision-making processes of actions aimed at the Queima-Pé river sub-basin, aiming to establish the strengths and weaknesses of the committee and reduce the water problems experienced in the region.
