RESUMO:

The use of rainwater as a source of supply dates back to 5000 years BC, with historical artifacts of rainwater cisterns being found in Babylonian archeological sites. The problem of this work is to answer what are the viable low-cost strategies for capturing and storing rainwater, ensuring quality and quantity, both for its potable and non-potable use? With the objective of evaluating low-cost models and protocols related to rainwater capture, treatment and storage systems, aiming at improving the quality and quantity of rainwater captured and stored in rural areas of Mato Grosso. For data collection, the State of the Art on rainwater storage identified in the bibliography will be carried out, using the CAPES portal, Academic Google, using the descriptors "rainwater supply system" AND "treatment" AND "storage" AND “low cost” AND (“urban” OR “rural”) and in documents of the institutions Mato Grosso Research, Assistance and Rural Extension - EMPAER, Brazilian Agricultural Research Company -EMBRAPA, National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform - INCRA , Secretary of State for the Environment - SEMA MT, Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE The data collected will subsidize the elaboration of a low cost rainwater supply system catalog, considering noble and non-noble purposes containing the construction methodologies, economic feasibility, construction plan of the rainwater supply system, execution time, variety of installation locations tion, precipitation and use for Mato Grosso.
