RESUMO:

Water is the most abundant natural resource on our planet and essential for all living beings. However, the scarcity of water resource resources and the increase in conflicts over water use have significantly decreased. In this sense, it generated the emergency in creating projects for the conservation, treatment and reuse of water, through an adequate management of water resources. The reuse of water is a practice of rationalization and conservation of water resources, according to the principles established in Agenda 21. This study aims to analyze the processes of management of effluents generated by hospital laundries and to propose a “Plan for economic reuse of hospital water in the city of Tangará da Serra, MT. It is characterized as qualitative research, the methodology used was field research, interviews, bibliographies and technical standards. Currently the city of Tangará da Serra, has four hospitals, two public and two private, the public network has 212 hospital beds. The formula TC = NLxLLx30 was used, where TC is the calculation of the consumption of water consumed per month; NL the number of hospital beds and LLD, the volume (liters / bed / day) of water used to wash clothes per bed. The monthly consumption of water in public hospital laundries is approximately 3,180,000 liters / month, these effluents are directed directly to the sewage network, as the city does not have a specific hospital effluent treatment network. In this context, a “Economic feasibility plan for the reuse of hospital water in the city of Tangará da Serra, MT” is proposed, as the use of the effluents from the laundries, for similar activities (gardening, discharges, washing of sidewalks), aims to intent to directly reduce the discharge to the municipality's sewage network, contribute to economic sustainability, as well as subsidize managers, legislators and supervisory bodies for decision making regarding the improper disposal of effluents.
