RESUMO:

The Parecis aquifer is located at the central region of the state of Mato Grosso and has three main formations: Utiriati, Ronuro and Salto das Nuvens. The aim of this study is to obtain data that will provide the classification of groundwater in a portion of the Salto Das Nuvens formation in the Parecis aquifer, in the city of Tapurah, according to the resolution 396/2008 of CONAMA (National Counsel for the Environment). The Municipal Plan of Sanitation states that the hydric productivity of the aquifer in the region is very high (Q≥100,0) m3/h, and the water is pumped through deep wells for public supply. This research is relevant to the Brazilian hydric resources management because it will provide information that can be used in the monitoring system of groundwater, as well because the Parecis aquifer lacks data regarding the quality of its water and other hydrological aspects. The methodology of the study is bibliographical review, field work and sample analysis. Original studies were selected from the year 1990 until 2019, with the following descriptor: groundwater and groundwater classification; besides that, governmental decrees, law, resolutions and others regarding the management of water resources and groundwater will be used. A climatological water balance was obtained, with the excess and deficit values. Raw water samples are being analyzed for physical chemical variables apparent color, turbidity, pH, hardness, conductivity; microbiological variables such as total coliforms, Escherichia coli and heterotrophic bacteria; as well as organic, inorganic, organoleptic and radioactivity samples analyzed by third parties. It is expected, at the end of the study, to obtain a proposal for the classification of groundwater at this portion of the Salto das Nuvens aquifer, of the Parecis Group, that could serve as a model to be adopted by other regions of the state and country, considering that the classification is of the five instruments that has been very little implemented in the National Plan of Hydric Resources.
