RESUMO:

The purpose of this research is to reflect on the representations of black people in Brazilian children's literature, considering ethnic-racial and ancestry issues in the novel Os noves pentes d'Africa, by Cidinha da Silva. The author from Belo Horizonte from Minas Gerais presents in her writing a plot that thematizes stories, roots, ancestries and memories of the Brazilian black population, which allows an approach to black literature, through problematizations about the concept of blackness, racial prejudice, culture African and Brazilian culture. In this vein, his literary writing debates historical, identity, cultural, memorialistic and ethnic-racial elements that are fundamental to affirmative public policies in Brazil, especially regarding Laws No. 10,639/2003 and No. 11,645/2008, regulations that recommend that the guidelines and bases of national education must include in the official curriculum of the education network the mandatory theme “Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous History and Culture”. In this way, Cidinha da Silva's literary production is part of this embryonic context of advances and debates about respective approaches. For the development of research, the productions of Bauman (2005), Bosi (1992), Candido (1989), Hall (2013), hoolks (2019, Ribeiro (2019), Ricouer (2007), Fanon (2008), Silva (2010), Spivak (2010), Kilomba (2019) among other important references given to the corpus under analysis.
