RESUMO:

The new linguistic studies show that literacies manifest themselves in multiple forms, according to each social context, mainly under to critical applied linguistics(CALx) approach. The research undertook to respond how the literacies promoted in the context of the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS), in the North of Mato Grosso in Amazon region, help the development of the critical consciousness of people in a situation of vulnerability. Using Ethnographic and interpretational methodological research, the study was theoretically based on the visions of authors who recognize language as social practice: New London Group (2021), Santos-Marques and Kleiman (2020), Kalantzis, Cope and Pinheiro (2020) Janks (2016), Jordan (2016), Pinheiro (2016), Monte-Mór (2015), Tfouni, Souza and Cruz (2013), Freire (2012; 2013; 2015), Street (2014; 2007), Tfouni (2010 ), Rojo (2009), Pennycook (2006), Signorini (2006), Soares (2004a, 2004b), Kleiman (1995, 2005, 2007), Gee (2000) and among others. From the proposed studies, we understand that the social practices of language, moved by the events of literacies, therefore, are inseparable phenomena. That is, they coexist. We noticed that the literations in the search locus do not use readings and writing, but dialogues, yarning circle, painting on screens, handicrafts, dances, lectures, workshops and other forms, inferred in the development of the person through awareness, citizenship and humanizing training.
