THE USE OF THE APPS AS MEDIATING RESOURCES IN THE INTERACTION OF LISTENERS WITH LIBRAS AS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE

This research presents the results of the analysis of subjects participating in a module of an extension course entitled "Deafness and the use of Assistive Technologies for the Deaf - theoretical-methodological training", which took place in the second half of the year 2020. In the respective module, entitled of axis 4, the HandTalk, VLibras and ProDeaf applications were presented and used, all translators from Portuguese to Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), so that their operational specificities are described as mediators in the communication interaction processes with the language additional. In this perspective, the study is composed of theoretical questions that discuss Sign Language (QUADROS & KARNOPP, 2007; AZEREDO, 2006; among others), Additional Language (Lefa and Irala, 2009 and SOUZA, 2019), sociocultural theory (VYGOTSKY , 1978 and LANTOLF and THORNE (2007) and Digital Literacy (COSCARELLI, 2016) to name a few. The analysis of the listening participants allowed, so far, to identify the potential and weaknesses of the applications.The results obtained also revealed the interactive potential of the tools analyzed, in the social spheres today, in aspects such as: interaction, vocabulary expansion, identity constitution and autonomy of the listening subject.
