RESUMO:

In this work, we intend to mediate the students' contact with indigenous literature, with a view to constructing meanings and recognizing cultural plurality as a trigger for awareness and respect for the differences that make up the formation of the Brazilian people, and this intention dialogues with what provides for Law nº.11.645/2008, which establishes the guidelines and bases of national education, to include in the official curriculum of the education network the mandatory theme “Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous History and Culture”. The starting point of the intervention project is the reading of the work “Vozes Ancestrals”, by Daniel Munduruku, the result of research work and collection of tales of indigenous peoples spread throughout the Brazilian territory, carried out by the aforementioned author. Composed of ten short stories, the work maps the values and customs of different indigenous peoples from north to south of the country, in a meticulous work that combines, from orality, writing and photos, so that the reader has a visual reference of the indigenous culture and literature.
