RESUMO:
Awakening a love of reading in students is a constant concern in education, as literature plays a fundamental role in children's cognitive and emotional development. Therefore, it is necessary to understand how literature is used in the training of readers, cultivating different aspects and resources, such as the book "What story is this?" by Flávio Souza. In this context, this study aims to analyze the importance of literary reading in the training of student readers and how this work mentioned above can contribute to awakening interest and a taste for reading, as well as assisting in the cognitive and emotional training of students and promoting learning. The work is an example of how creativity in reinventing short stories can encourage a love of reading as it discusses the importance of teacher, family and society participation in the formation of competent readers who are passionate about literature. To support the investigation, the contents of Bakhtin, Bamberger, Coelho, Candido, Zilberman, Colomer, among other literature teaching scholars, were considered, as the study will follow a qualitative approach, using text analysis, bibliographic review and documentary research. Furthermore, this work shows an analysis of the work "What story is this?" by Flávio Souza, considering how it contributes to the development of reading and a taste for literature in children.
