RESUMO:
The study presented was developed from the perspective of approaching the short story as a literary genre, presented as a means of supplying the individual's own understanding, combined with dynamic reading, encouraging critical thinking arising from the analysis of the historical context present behind the narrative. The research is affiliated with the Master's program in Literary Studies at UNEMAT, associated with the Reading, Literature and Teaching research line. In view of this, the proposal corroborates the reader's training process, in which the teaching mediator must provide practices that include such action. Therefore, this work targets literature teachers, with the purpose of contributing to their teaching practice. Based on the materiality of Marta Cocco's writing in the work “Não presta pra nada” (2016), the research refers to the importance of gender in the process of reader formation and analyzes social behavior in relation to the historical silencing of women, as well as, This seeks to change the reality in which it operates. In order to contemplate the proposed objectives, as a work methodology, the aesthetics of reception defended by Jauss (1967) was used as a theoretical subsidy, based on studies, among others, by Proença Filho (1996), Paulo Freire (1996 ), Bordini & Aguiar, (1989), Candido (2004), Regina Zilberman (2015), Bosi (2015), as well as a reference on female protagonism in the view of Bourdieu (2005), Figueiredo (2020) Walker (2015), Wolf (1985), Coelho (1993), Beauvoir (2023) Butler (2021), Nadaf (2004), Soares (2014), Kristeva (1989) among others. Considering the relevance of these authors' approach to their theories, this work gains relevance as it contributes to studies related to the reader's formation process and their awareness, through narratives, of female silencing in the face of the patriarchal society portrayed in the literatures, more specifically, in the four chosen stories. The choice of the research object was made a priori, due to the fact that the work was written by a woman, as well as the focus of highlighting women in the process of female authorship contributing to the professional training of the educator. In the introductory part we discuss literature as an art of expression, combined with the debate about the position of women in patriarchal society. In chapter I, we address the aesthetics of reception and the importance of the educator encouraging the reflective reader and literary reading for pleasure, in addition to promoting literary discourse and the interpretative conditions that are in the text for subsequent textual analysis. In chapter II, we historically address the process of inclusion and acceptance of female authorship by patriarchal society, as well as the challenges of constructing writing that gives voice and 'denounces' the situation of women in the social space. And finally, in chapter III, we discuss the short story and its characteristics, intertwined with the analyzes of the short stories “Cinco Marias”, “Gente de Quem?”, “Roupa Suja” and “Chuva Benta” based on the theories discussed in the chapters previous ones. The work was chosen because it is a book written by a woman, in addition to dealing with the short story genre and addressing different aspects in each story that the author brings, and at the same time having a common thread that is the woman in her multifaceted form. before society. Furthermore, the work awakens the reader to the fundamental role of literature, which is to establish reflections on the world in which we live. In the end, we have work that will contribute to the fight for equality, representation and the voice of women in Literature.
