This work aims to evaluate the use of two active methodologies, rotation by stations and teaching through investigation, in order to observe whether these can be an alternative way of teaching the content of ecological interactions. For this, the research was carried out in a school in the urban area of the district of Campo Novo do Parecis -MT, with 30 students in the first year of high school. The first part of the application consisted of using rotation by stations, four different stations, to engage students and introduce the problems that should be investigated by them. After this moment, the investigative stage began, where students had to use the information generated from the stations to try to discover which theme and biological concepts were being worked on. The application of the research demonstrated that the two methodologies were very efficient in improving student engagement in carrying out the proposed activities. The rotation by stations aroused the interest of students, with some of them insisting on participating in as many stages as possible. The investigation heightened their curiosity in trying to understand the purpose of it all, which generated very positive results from the generation of hypotheses and research carried out by the students. Another important factor to highlight was the importance of conversation circles to direct students and make them talk about the possibilities that made the most sense considering everything that was accomplished, making the exchange of ideas a great strategy for building arguments. and deconstruction of previous ideas.
