RESUMO:

Arboviruses have become constant threats in tropical regions due to rapid climate changes and precarious sanitary conditions, which favor viral amplification and transmission. The knowledge of the population and the school community is necessary to assist in combating these diseases, mainly for public health reasons. The general objective of this project was to develop an interactive and informative digital booklet to increase awareness and knowledge about dengue in the school and municipal community of Lambari D’Oeste in the State of Mato Grosso. For this, investigative sequences of the students’ prior knowledge about the theme were carried out; a lecture was given by an endemic agent to reinforce the importance of the theme for society and to raise students’ awareness; an investigative sequence of students with their community was carried out, obtaining 40 interviews; and a booklet was made for analysis by the students and feedback from the community, so that this material is adopted in the school community and by the municipality’s health agencies. In the investigative sequence with the students, it was observed that the Padlet methodology analysis of a problem situation “The Dilemma of Alceu” was efficient for the students to reach the diagnosis of dengue disease. The lecture with the endemic agent was effective in raising students’ awareness for the activity of interviewing the community, leading to the obtaining of 40 answered questionnaires in different neighborhoods of Lambari D’Oeste. The booklet was made and made available on the website: https://padlet.com/alinebatistasouza/breakout-link/5Wkoqm35jVDV48pM-ldENvGAymdZzjo5k. The inspection at the school to check for dengue focus points identified 8 points, which the students remedied. The booklet produced proved to be easily accessible by QRcode and easy to understand, so that as many people as possible have access. The post-didactic sequence evaluation provided the students with a new view of the project, establishing confidence and success in deepening awareness about the dengue theme in the municipality of Lambari D’Oeste. It is concluded that the teaching of biology is necessary for the integration of students with the school community in a project of relevant theme for health at a national level such as dengue.
