RESUMO:
Considered as bioindicators of environmental quality, species of dragonflies can be found in anthropic environments, with some being considered opportunistic and others resistant to these environments. Other species occur in preserved riparian forest environments, being seen as specialists or territorialists. They are voracious predators, responsible for regulating some insect populations in the areas where they occur. Because they are predators, they are easily affected by variations in the food chain of their habitat, mainly due to human disturbance. The adults in the group are more sensitive to anthropization in the environment and are excellent at perceiving environmental variations, and the group is even considered one of the “macroecological barometers” of global warming. Through studies, it is possible for students to experience the scientific method through a real problem, researching real factors of/in the environment, developing their protagonism. Therefore, as a way of increasing environmental education and developing scientific literacy in students, it is proposed to analyze the integrity of a stretch of the Membeca River and its source, on the outskirts of the city of Campo Novo do Parecis – MT and relate this information with the local Odonata assembly, as a bioindicator group of environmental quality. Consequently, the activities to be developed also seek to produce a sequence feasible for other teachers who intend to include research-based teaching in their pedagogical approach, that is, the scientific literacy of their students. Finally, as a way to assist them in their approach, a guide will be proposed for applying an SDI focusing on Environmental Integrity Analysis using Odonates as bioindicators.
