RESUMO:

The theory of evolution, through natural selection, contributes to the understanding of the history of living beings and the mechanisms through which the environment acts in their evolutionary process. Currently, the contents of evolution are seen as the door to a proper understanding of the diversification of living beings and their relationship with the environment. Therefore, the teaching of evolutionary biology is an essential curriculum component in schools, but it is not always addressed, or when addressed, it is not fully understood. Taking these assumptions into account, there is a considerable need to make the teaching of biological evolution a more interactive and thought-provoking process, so that the information worked on in the classroom is actually understood in a more lasting way by the students. Thus, this project aims to propose didactic sequences with an investigative approach, arranged in a textbook, aiming at teaching biological evolution in high school. The study is characterized by being of a qualitative nature, which allows a subjectivity to work on cultural, economic, historical and educational issues, in which the subjects express their opinion on a certain topic (GIL, 1999). It will be developed in two stages: The first will be for the application of pre- and post-intervention questionnaires and an intervention between these, to resolve doubts about the topic. The second stage will consist of the production of a scientific article with the data collected and a textbook containing didactic sequences with an investigative approach, aiming to help other teachers in the area.
