RESUMO:

The teaching of Microbiology in Basic Education has been challenging, both due to the lack of laboratory equipment and the mystification that all microscopic beings cause disease. Given the need for new teaching approaches that help students understand the importance of microorganisms, this work presents the construction, application and validation of na Investigative Gamified Didactic Sequence (IGDS), specifically focused on the benefits provided by bacteria and fungi in our daily life. For data collection regarding the acquisition of knowledge and validation of the didactic sequence, the students had their prior knowledge investigated and then participated in the steps of the didactic sequence. After applying the proposed SDGI classes, students answered a questionnaire prepared with the ARCS methodology, which was used to assess the game criteria used in the didactic sequence. The results were interpreted using the categorization of knowledge developed during the proposed activities, and demonstrate that despite the low participation during the period of remote classes, frequent students had their initial conceptions changed and began to recognize microorganisms as important beings for their daily lives, in addition to the use of game elements made possible a greater dynamization and made the students feel motivated to develop the proposed activities. From the experience of applying and validating this didactic sequence, it is intended to develop a free course that will be made available in the moodle environment to guide teachers and undergraduate students in the development of IGDSs.
