RESUMO:

The thesis entitled Recovery of Pantanal Springs: Experiences in the Upper Paraguay Basin, Mato Grosso, Brazil, is divided into five chapters. The first chapter, Recovery of Degraded Areas: A Literature Review of the Neotropical Regions and Brazil, deals with a systematic review of studies developed in the last 20 years. The second chapter, Dialogues for the Construction of a Pact for the Restoration of the Pantanal, refers to a follow-up study of the diagnosis of problems identified by social actors involved in restoration in the Pantanal, experiences from different regions of the country and the needs for construction of a pact to restore the Pantanal. In the third chapter, the Experiences of Recovery of Springs in the Hydrographic Basins of the Jauru and Cabaçal Rivers and the Challenges for the Conservation of the Pantanal are addressed, based on a documentary study and interview application, it was possible to draw up a timeline and identify the practices mobilization and social participation for the recovery of springs. In chapter four, Environmental Education as a Tool in the Pantanal Conservation Awareness Process, suggests teaching materials and sustainable alternatives for carrying out environmental education work in communities, schools and society. Finally, in chapter five, The Perceptions of Stakeholders operating in the Upper Paraguay Basin and the process of Recovery of Pantanal Springs in the Jauru and Cabaçal River Basins, based on interviews between different social actors, perceptions and knowledge are identified, enabling the understanding of the process of the first spring recovery actions in the Upper Paraguay Basin.
