RESUMO:

Bees are the main biotic pollinators of natural and artificial environments. The diversity of bees native to Brazil neglected as possible pollinators of agricultural crops is 88.4%. The processes of replacing landscapes for urbanization and agricultural activities have generated climate change, as well as a reduction in resources necessary for the survival of bees. The agricultural systems in Brazil are monocultural, and these require the use of pesticides that can cause a reduction in the bee population. Among climate change, we can highlight the effect of global warming, associated with it, in some regions of Brazil temperatures are commonly already above the temperature of thermal comfort, and as an aggravating factor, some pesticides are associated with changes in thermoregulation ability of bees. Measures must be taken to reduce deforestation associated with environmental recovery, as well as the adoption of agricultural practices that minimize environmental damage. To address the themes mentioned, the thesis was divided into five chapters. In chapter 1, entitled “What is known about the bee fauna in Mato Grosso? The state with the highest agricultural production in Brazil”, submitted to the Journal of Insect Conservation. We carried out a systematic literature review of scientific articles published between 1945 and July 2020, dealing with the topic of current knowledge about bee diversity in the state of Mato Grosso. In chapter 2, entitled “Pollinators visit the sunflower throughout its flowering, increasing productivity and standardizing the seeds”, published in the journal Novos Cadernos NAEA. The objective was to verify the effect of biotic pollination in the culture of the sunflower cultivar SYN 039A, associated or not with organic fertilization, and also to determine in which flowering period and at what time of day there is a greater abundance of floral visitors. In chapter 3, entitled “Afforestation and populous swarms guarantee thermoregulation of the interior of the Apis mellifera nest”, published in the journal Agroecossistemas. The objective was to identify the ideal place inside the hive to measure the temperature, and to evaluate if the internal temperature of the hive is affected by the size of the bee population, and also to verify if in the southwest region of the State of Mato Grosso the management of keeping hives in a wooded environment in summer or in full sun in winter ensure thermal homeostasis. In chapter 4, under preparation, provisionally titled “Structure of the bee community in the upper course of the Paraguay River - Pantanal, Mato Grosso, Brazil”. The objective with this study was to carry out a survey of the bee fauna in the upper course of the Paraguai river, and to verify if the structure and composition of the vegetation interferes in the structure and composition of the bee community. In chapter 5, under preparation, provisionally titled “Bees and pesticides: A risk scenario with the increase in the use of pesticides”. The objective was to verify the sales volume of pesticides in Brazil and Mato Grosso. And later classify these active principles as harmful to bees, to then verify the possible risks to bees associated with the use of these substances.
