RESUMO:

The Amazon Basin is the largest watershed in the world with 7.05 million km2 and encompasses a very diverse environment. Associated with it is the Araguaia-Tocantins Basin, where the Rio das Mortes stands out, which has high ecological, geopolitical and socioeconomic importance, as it covers the transition between the Cerrado and Amazon biomes. This thesis is divided into three articles; For the first one, presented here, we developed a current geographic distribution model for the four most fished/traded fish species in Rio das Mortes, Mato Grosso, and generated a distribution model for the future, based on an optimistic scenario (+ 2.6°C RCP, Representative Concentration Paths) and a pessimist (+8.5°C) of the increase in greenhouse gas emissions. In the second article, we will compare the perception and ethnoecological knowledge of traditional riverside communities and urban residents in three municipalities (Nova Xavantina, Nova Nazaré and Novo Santo Antônio) in the Rio das Mortes Basin, enabling the proposition of strategies for the conservation of this important spring. In the third article, we will compare some climatic and hydrological variables of the Rio das Mortes Basin, between the three municipalities, and we will evaluate them on a time scale over the last 30 years. We used the Snowball methodological technique, and interviewed riverside dwellers, fishermen and residents close to the Rio das Mortes, totaling 105 people. To carry out the modeling of the four most cited species in the interviews: Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum (Linnaeus 1766 - Pimelodidae), Brycon falcatus (Müller & Troschel 1844 - Characidae), Myloplus torquatus (Kner 1858 - Serrasalmidae) and Leporinus friderici (Bloch 1794 - Anostomidae), we selected the region of coverage of the Araguaia-Tocantins Basin, in order to contemplate a greater amount of georeferenced data on the species and, from that, we calculated the proportion of environmental suitability within the Rio das Mortes Basin. After the species selection, we established a database with occurrence point data from digital collections. The projections of future occurrence of the species, under a scenario of increasing temperatures and reduced precipitation, pointed to drastic reductions in some and less drastic or even increases for other species. For the second chapter, we will use the number of citations for each species (fauna and flora) and the number of species cited for each use category to build data matrices. We will then calculate the value in use (VU) and corrected principal use agreement (CUPc) and compare across municipalities using a principal component analysis (PCA). In order to analyze how some hydrological and climatic variables, between the mouth of the Rio das Mortes and the border between the municipality of Nova Xavantina and Novo São Joaquim (550 km), have changed over the last 30 years, we will elaborate for the third chapter, a database of data with information obtained in meteorological stations of INMET (National Institute of Meteorology) and of pluviometric and fluviometric stations of the Hydrological Information System of the National Water Agency.
