A SEMANTIC-ENUNCIATIVE STUDY OF WORKS OF ART BY CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS IN MATO-GROSSENSE

Works of Arts; Event Semantics; Appointment; Verbal and non-verbal relationships.

This work, linked to the Concentration Area for the Study of Linguistic Processes, Research Line Studies of Meaning Processes of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the State University of Mato Grosso –UNEMAT, aims to analyze the semantic functioning- statement of two works of art what they present to us. To this end, we selected Família Reunida and Festas dos Bichos by the visual artists, Sebastião Mendes and Carlinhos Viana, both representatives of Mato Grosso culture. We will take the two works as a corpus, considering the naming process and the relationship between utterances and the non-verbal. In this way, we will seek to understand language as a relationship of meanings that includes the materiality of the language, the history and the subject who enunciates. For this research we will follow the theoretical-methodological constructs of Event Semantics, Guimarães (2002 and 2018) which tells us that the analysis of the meaning of language must be located in the event of saying, therefore, the analyzes were carried out from the enunciative perspective in that enunciation is taken as the place that produces meaning.
