RESUMO:

This research, situated in the field of Applied Linguistics, engages in
transdisciplinary dialogues with Scientific Studies and the Sociology of Associations. In
the context of an era transformed by digital technologies, we acknowledge that
contemporary life is influenced by hybrids, with language playing a crucial role in this
changing landscape. Remote and Emergency Teaching practices during the Covid-19
Pandemic, for instance, intensified these transformations in teaching and learning
practices. Building upon Latour (2012), we argue that it is imperative to reconsider
crystallized conceptions, such as digital technologies and language teaching. Therefore,

the objective of this ongoing doctoral thesis is to investigate the dynamics of self-
organization and adaptation of a Portuguese Language teacher in her processes of digital

literacies during her teaching practices in the pandemic and post-pandemic phases of
Covid-19’ times. Theoretically, we rely on the Actor-Network Theory (ANT), based on
Latour's works such as “Science in Action” (2000), “Reassembling the Social” (2012),
“We Have Never Been Modern” (2017), and “Pandora's Hope” (2019).

Methodologically, we conduct an exploratory, applied study with a qualitative-
quantitative interpretative approach, employing the Cartography of Controversies, a

methodology initiated by Latour (2012) and disseminated by Lemos (2013) in Brazil, and
Venturini (2010, 2012) in France, compatible with Actor-Network Theory. The study
corpus includes a semi-structured interview, an objective questionnaire based on the
Likert scale, online interactions, observation, and description of both in-person and online
classes, narratives from the informant and students extracted through written production,
consisting of experiential reports on pandemic teaching. Early preliminary data reveal
persistent tensions since the pandemic, especially regarding the use of digital technologies
in the school setting. There is a perception that the “new normal” tends to revert to the
old, given the limited use of technologies by the teacher compared to the pandemic period,
and even their prohibition in some classes.
