RESUMO:

The present research, with the theme about meaing making in the perspective of affective critical literacy according to Anwaruddin (2016); Morgan, Rocha and Maciel (2021) and Ahmed, Morgan and Maciel (2021), was held at the Graduate Program in Linguistics at the State University of Mato Grosso, linked to the research line Study of Processes of Social Practices of Language, in the concentration area of Linguistic Process Studies. To this end, the objectives were to analyze how academics from the undergraduate course in Letters – Licentiate and Bachelor’s – at the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul appropriate the concepts of multimodality, translanguaging and affection, addressed in theoretical texts in Language and Digital Technologies, taught in the 2nd year of the course, as well as investigating how the researcher was affected by the encounter of bodies (SPINOZA, 2009). To guide this investigation, the research was driven by the following questions: 1. How do academics appropriate the concepts of multimodality, translanguage and affection, from the perspective of critical affective and multisensory literacy? and 2. How was the researcher affected, from these encounters of bodies, during the process of construction of meanings? Under the support of the epistemology of postmodern emergence, according to Somerville (2007) and Maciel (2016), a qualitative study was carried out with the contribution of critical ethnography, proposed by Macedo and Sá (2018), with the aim of understanding the educational phenomenon in the context in which it occurred. The adoption of this methodological option was based on the perception that the postmodern emergence makes room for the new, the becoming, the unexpected and enables more fluid analysis and data interpretation practices. For this, the data were generated from the audio and video recording of the classes, in which the researcher also participated as a teacher along with the class teacher, as well as the analysis of the students' learning diaries, the researcher's field diary and the works produced by academics, with a view to investigating and describing aspects that emerged throughout the observed process. The educational practices were analyzed, focusing on the relationships and interactions between the participants and their actions, focusing on the search for the role of affection in the quality of learning. The criteria used were the particularities of the relationships and interactions established between the participants and their actions in the face of situations that emerged during the process.
