RESUMO:

When deaf people do not have access to an official sign language, they create their own visual communication. This innate need of every human being happens due to their need to communicate. This research is linked to the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics, in the line of research Study of Descriptive Processes, Analysis and Documentation of Indigenous Languages In the Gapgir village, in Cacoal/RO, we have a group of deaf indigenous people who created signs for communication with their pairs. These signs in use by this group are giving rise to a new sign language, Paiter Suruí Sign Language (LSPS). This research aims to compare whether the Paiter Suruí signs present the five parameters of the Brazilian Sign Language. The methodology used was the case study, with an ethnographic look, with the contribution of bibliographic research, since the data used for analysis were taken from the research of Eler (2017, 2020), Gregianini (2017) and Costa (2017). These resear hes contributed to the linguistic affirmation of the deaf indigenous people of this village. To analyze the signals, Pimenta's (2006) hand configuration chart was used as a basis for comparison. The theoretical framework that supports the analyses are Felipe (2006), Lucinda Ferreira (2010) and Quadros (2019) who bring the concepts of parameters and explain that for a sign to be formed, it passes through at least three of the five parameters of language of signs and that sign languages are visual space modality, use the body, facial expressions, hands in the production and perception of signs. The parameters are formed by the configuration of hands, orientation, location, movement and the non- manual joints. To support the research with deaf indigenous people, we used Vilhalva (2012) as a reference, who mapped deaf indigenous people in Mato Grosso do Sul. As a result of this research we found signals with three Libras parameters, signals with four
parameters and with five parameters. Among these signs are the sign of FISH, SNAKE, HEADQUARTERS, WATER, SWEET POTATO, BRACELET, among others. Thus, the LSPS signs present the basic structure of sign languages, with regard to the five parameters of Libras. This research contributes to the linguistic recognition in the constitution of the LSPS signs, a language that is being developed by the deaf indigenous Paiter Suruí.
