RESUMO:

This thesis is part of the research line “Study of Processes of Variation and Change” of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (UNEMAT) and aims to demonstrate the semantic-lexical variation that occurs in certain thematic categories found in publications of the digital social network Instagram. Thus, through Sociolinguistics and Dialectology, we sought to demonstrate how such variation occurs in this digital space, as well as the linguistic attitudes of the followers of four profiles, which are called: Alagoanês Dictionary; Paraiba dictionary; Sergipanese dictionary; Bahia dictionary. These northeast regional dictionaries were produced and published on the digital social network Instagram, by non-specialized people. Thus, as it is a relatively new field of research in the area of language, it was necessary to seek a specific methodology, so for this study, we used the methods of observation and data collection of virtual ethnography. Thus, in the results of this research, a total of 24 terms of semantic-lexical order were found, and some of these are repeated among the profiles of digital dictionaries. Based on these results, the data were organized and analyzed into four categories, namely: 1) The parts of the human body: penis/whip; vagina/tobacco; clitoris/penguelo; thin legs/cambitos; eyelids/chapel; coast/hunchback; belly/tummy; nose/vent, neck/shoulder; heel/mocotó. 2) Feelings/emotions: laugh/smirk; suspicious/goat; certainty/lapos; cool/bullet/mass; surprised/oxe; 3) Clothing: flip-flops/apargata/; slipper/Japanese; hair tiara/treadmill; coat/coat; bra/bodice; clip/miss. It was also verified the linguistic attitudes of the followers of the surveyed profiles towards the Semantic-lexical variation, based on the comments left in the analyzed publications. So, they were organized into two indexes; cognitive attitude index and affective attitude index.
