This master's thesis is part of the research line Studies of the Processes of Meaning of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Linguistics, at the Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (UNEMAT). It is a study that prioritizes reflecting on the enunciative functioning of the noun grammatical class extracted from texts from high school textbooks, so the analyzes of this study consider first the studies developed by the enunciative grammatical rules, the studies that normalize the language in relation to the noun grammatical class , then we analyze the functioning of the nouns in the enunciation events that constitute the texts that the textbooks present and that we take as clippings for our enunciative analyses. In this way, we highlight the functioning of language as a construction of meanings. Our choice for this grammatical class is due to the fact that it is the first one presented in the selected textbooks. In this perspective, the problem that guided the development of this study is that the use of textbooks in the teaching of Portuguese in Brazil is often presented, with the function of showing the student the normative use of the language, without observing the semantic- of the language, justifying the need to think and develop a study that addressed the enunciative functioning of the noun extracted from texts in textbooks that are used and presented in a common way, leaving aside the meanings constituted in its enunciative functioning. In this sense, the analyzes were developed in the theoretical perspective of the Semantics of the Event, which studies the meaning in the event of saying, that is, the senses are given in the functioning of language. In this way, the texts are understood, in this research, as a unit of meaning. To compose the analysis, we selected three Portuguese high school textbooks, which were used in the classroom in public schools in the city of Cáceres-MT in their respective years, in order to observe the semantic distinction built by a normative analysis in the relationship with the enunciative analysis supported by the Semantics of the Event. The three textbooks selected are pedagogical tools intended for the student audience. They are: Portuguese: Language, Literature, Text Production (2004), by the authors Maria Luiza Abaurre, Marcela Nogueira Pontarra and Tatiana Fadel; Portuguese Languages 2, Literature, Text Production, Grammar (2010), by the authors Willian Roberto Cereja and Thereza Cochar Magalhães and Portuguese 2, context, interlocution and meaning (2016), by the authors Maria Luiza M. Abaurre, Maria Bernadete M, Abaurre and Marcela Pontara. Our analyzes allowed us to observe both the semantic stability produced by the normalization of the language as well as its semantic dispersion constituted by the functioning of the nouns extracted from the texts of textbooks that we took as corpus.
