RESUMO:

The education of deaf people today has been the object of study in the various spheres of academic knowledge causing deep discussions and advances on this subject. This research is linked to the Graduate Program in Linguistics, in the research line Study of Descriptive Processes, Analysis and Documentation of Indigenous Languages, aims to make a comparative analysis between Paiter Suruí signs recorded in previous research with signs of other languages if official signs among them ASL and Libras. The problem raised on the subject is: do the Paiter Suruí signs recorded in previous research have the same signal structure as other sign languages? The research is based on Stokoe's linguistic studies from the 1960s onto understanding the recognition of sign languages as natural languages of the deaf. The phonetic and phonological studies of sign languages will be based on Brentari (1998) which refers to phonetics and phonology in sign languages, the author in describing the phonological structure in the formation of signs divided into eight types of signs forming a basic set necessary to describe the structure of any complete phonological set model for the signlanguages, as a parameter, the ASL. The studies of manual joints and phonological description in the structure of the signs will be based on Crasborn (2012). To support the discussion on the importance of registering unofficial languages taking into account the development of a language of deaf groups isolated from large urban centers, we sought reference in the experience of São Tomé and Príncipe in Mineiro and Carmo (2016). The research is characterized in a case study, of bibliographic character with a look at the methodologies of post-critical research of Meyer and Paraíso (2012) that with a new and free way to forward their researches, thus recognizing a way of tread new paths that make it possible to produce the data of the questions that motivated this research. We aim to contribute to the cultural, educational and linguistic growth of the deaf community.
