RESUMO:

This study, registered in the Sociolinguistics, in the research line of Studies in processes of Variation and Change from the Stricto Sensu Post graduating Program in Linguistics, had as main objective to identify linguistic attitudes in relation to the spoken local media from the towns. The aim was also to identify linguistic attitudes in relation to cuiabano way of speaking; the occurrence of regional linguistic varieties in local media spoken by the towns; to the use of cuiabano way of speaking in the spoken media from Cuiabá-MT; forty- four interviewed, divided between men and women and secondary and higher education. In order to define the criteria for inclusion of the basic sample from this research, we followed the following criteria: a) the interviewed ones had to be born and resided in the city of Cuiabá, in Mato Grosso; b) that the the interviewed werw of legal age. The interviews with native cuiabanos, which constituted the corpus for the analysis, were developed through thirty-three questions. The results obtained corroborate our initial hypothesis that the natives would present positive linguistic attitudes in relation to the themes that we proposed to research. Informants not only favored the occurrence of regional linguistic varieties in local spoken media, but also criterion allows identity, understanding, culture, tradition, among other aspects promoted through the manifestation of local linguistic uses in the spoken media of the municipalities. In relation to the cuiabano way of speaking, the natives have positive attitudes to their own way of talking, they were favored to the use of this way of speaking in the spoken media from Cuiabá-MT. Research on linguistic attitudes is of extreme social relevance, because in addition to conditioning factors sex, age, education, among others, linguistic attitudes significantly influence the linguistic choices of speakers and the linguistic changes in the environment, thus providing the preservation or eradication of speeches. This study identified linguistic attitudes of natives cuiabanos towards the local linguistic variety, considered by Ordinance 17/2013 intangible heritage of Mato Grosso, and linguistic attitudes towards local spoken media and cuiabana spoken media, evidencing, in the linguistic scope, the preferences ode the listeners/viewers. Thus, the guiding questions of this research were What linguistic traits are accepted and what shoud be avoided in local spoken media? What are the language preferences of listeners/viewers? We hope that our research, besides the identification of linguistic attitudes, it shoud contributes towards the occurrence of local linguistic use in local spoken media. We also intend that this research contributed to the valorization of the linguistic reality of the researched community, Cuiabá-MT. It is also aimed, through this research, to enable the interested for productions related to speaking in the media. The study shows how judgments in relations of the linguistic uses of the media occur, stimulating new research, which can contribute to triggering in speakers the feeling of appreciations of local speech.
