In this PhD thesis presented to the Stricto Sensu Graduation Program in Linguistics, articulated in its research line Study of Meaning Processes by the concentration area Study of Linguistic Processes, we analyze the constitution, formulation and circulation of a new discourse, in between two others. The first, on the Latin American Integration Route (LAIR); the second, on the University Network of the Latin American Integration Route (UniLAIR). In the 'roads' of this discursive route, we observe the game between paraphrase and polysemy, in it the process of signification and re-signification for another discourse. We selected as corpus news archives about the Bioceanic Highway Corridor, available on an official website of the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS). Considering, fundamentally, the relationship of this subject-position with the discursive process in an in-between context, as the discourse of an East-West/Atlantic-Pacific road alternative, to connect the coast of Brazil with the coast of Chile, or Peru. In our journey, we analyzed the conflicting identity relations between the terms corridor, route and network, signified by many senses, although their effects point to the same direction: the western border. We elaborate conceptual definitions aiming to point out necessary convergences between meanings, senses and meaning effects, which can promote an unequivocal distinction between the discourses of/about the bioceanic corridor; from/over integration route; from/over university network. We thought carefully on the subtlety of interpreting gestures by possible discursive allies – UEMS and the Union of Cargo Transport and Logistics Companies of Mato Grosso do Sul (UCTLC/MS) -, public-private partners motivated by different institutional interests. As a result, the discursive processes of the University Networks of the UEMS Higher Education Institution move towards other HEIs, through a scientific-academic corridor, starting from Brazil through the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, expanding their networks from coast to coast from South America, aiming to open doors for HEIs from all continents, in this way, we delimited the linguistic marks of a new discourse, which we named University Bioceanic Corridor.
