RESUMO:

Abstract

The installation and consolidation of cinema as an art involves a long interpretative process of the subject of desire towards technology, in an attempt to “de-scientify” the machine that produces images moved by the poetic. Thus, from a relatively recent historical path, cinema emerges; and this construction, in its turn, opens the way to a multiple engendering of the particular cinematographic materiality. In this direction, we start from a history of constitution, to arrive at the constructive and constitutive characteristics of the film, and then, later, we cut, in the selected film, image sequences that guide us to an understanding of the subject of desiring signified in the images. Therefore, in this work, we seek to give visibility to this path by analyzing discourses from and about cinema: discourses linked to the cinematographic constitution, as well as a film – taken as the final product of this procedural coverage that is cinema. Affiliated to Discourse Analysis (AD) of French line and materialist basis - concentration area belonging to the research line Study of Discursive Processes of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics of the State University of Mato Grosso (PPGL/UNEMAT) – we are based on an understanding of discourse as an effect, brought by Pêcheux and re-signified by Orlandi. This theoretical area proposes understandings that are tangent to the subject and to the language, always reflecting them in relation to the memory of sayings, which affects discourses in the present, and promotes the discursive event (PÊCHEUX, 2012). In AD, there is no transparency in the construction of the discourses (presented in different typologies) nor in those who formulate them. We undertake, therefore, to understand the constitution of the subject of desire, based on the specific materiality of the film, giving visibility to the way the subject says himself through the verbal, the sound, the imagery from a film that deals with the connection of subjects among themselves, as well as with the Other (LACAN, 1998), amalgamated with technology, in a futuristic projection on the scene – liable to metaphorization of bonds that engender the subjects in the (un)known, woven in the current social situation. Through such theoretical foundation and analyzed materialities, we were able to understand constitutive elements of the filmic-signifying materiality and that the question of desire invades it, as a place of displacement. Based on our analyses, it was possible to apprehend how the lack can be signified not only in the failure and absence, present in the language, but also in its conjunction with the imagery and the sound, combined with cinematographic art.
