RESUMO:

This research, inscribed in the line of "Studies of Discursive Processes" of the Graduate Program of the University of the State of Mato Grosso (PPGL/UNEMAT), aims to discursively understand the processes of constitution and meaning of space, language, and the subject in the Mato Grosso State. To achieve this goal, we seek to analyze materials that put the senses, the subject and the space in the same movement (RODRÍGUEZ-ALCALÁ, 2003, 2011), thus, through the institutional memory and (popular) constitution that make up our research archive – and what we refer to as sayings and meanings that signify and spatialize the subject in the State of Mato Grosso – we have access to a place of constitution, subjectivation and frontier in the relationship between being Mato Grosso and being Brazilian in this space. The work is anchored in the theoretical, methodological, and analytical assumptions of French Discourse Analysis, which thinks of discourse as an effect of meaning between speakers (PÊCHEUX, 2014a) and the subject's relationship with language and history, determining forms of meaning and identification in/for space. For the research, it was necessary to articulate with the History of Linguistic Ideas (HIL), which aims to understand the constitution of knowledge of/about language, to think about the constitution of language in Mato Grosso, its memory, and its border relationship with the national language, through what is identified and disidentified for the subject and its space of meaning. Through this object of study, we saw the way in which the subject is constituted when confronted with the senses stabilized by an institutional discourse for what makes it work in an archive memory and a memory of colonial constitution, marked by the process of Portuguese colonization in relation to natives of the land, the indigenous. To this end, we seek to answer the question: how does the subject in the State of Mato Grosso constitute himself discursively to say about himself as Mato Grosso and Brazilian? The research file was constituted from two premises, which shape the corpus: a) the functioning of an institutional discourse with official documents from the State of Mato Grosso, such as the Flag, the Coat of Arms of the Armed Forces and the Anthem of the State of Mato Grosso (chapter II) and b) graffiti, the popular song “Nandaia” and “Espetáculo Nandaia” (chapter III), taken as a popular narrative based on the memory of the constitution of language and the subject in the Mato Grosso space. The relationship of discursive memory (interdiscourse) and institutional memory (archive memory) is strongly marked in the research: this is a stabilized discourse of the State, that “[...] that should not be forgotten, it is part the insertion of the subject in a social formation [...] that affects the subject's relationship with what, in society, should be remembered, in this case, in the face of culture and art” (ORLANDI, 2020, p. 513); the former is the subject's constitution memory, structured by forgetting (Ibid.), which, in its formulation, shows what should and can be said as an effect and which, by its interdiscursive inscription, is marked by the equivocality of language, space and subject in the State of Mato Grosso.
