A SEMANTIC-ENUNCIATIVE STUDY OF THE NAME “VILA BELA DA SANTÍSSIMA TRINDADE” AS THE FIRST CAPITAL OF MATO GROSSO
Own Name; Designation; Determination.
This work presents the analysis of the name of the first capital of Mato Grosso, Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade, whose meanings are produced in enunciative events that say the name of the municipality in historical documents (Foundation Minutes, Royal Letters and the Title of the Plant of Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade). In other words, we analyze the semantic movement of the name of the first capital of Mato Grosso and thus show the constitution of the semantic network designating the naming event built in the enunciative relations of the functioning of the name. And later we present a comparison of the teaching of proper name by traditional grammar, and the attempts to insert semantic concepts with the study of proper name by Guimarães' Theory of Event (2002, 2011, 2018) proposing, as an example, the analysis of the meanings of name in question, “Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade”. As methodological theoretical support, we use the assumptions of the Semantic Event theory, developed by Guimarães (2002, 2011, 2018), in Brazil. A semantics that considers that the analysis of the meanings of language must take place in the study of enunciation, in the event of saying.
