This Dissertation is enrolled in the Area of Concentration Study of Linguistic Processes, Research Line Study of Discursive Processes, of the Stricto Sensu Linguistics Postgraduate Program (PPGL), of the State University of Mato Grosso (Unemat). The research has, as theoretical and methodological contribution, the Theory of Discourse Analysis (AD), materialist, French line. We analyze the effects of meaning that circulate on the city, as well as the opacity in the discourses that are inscribed, either by the infrastructure of urban space, or by the policies and discourses of sustainability working - or not - in urban space. The analysis materials are composed of three videos and two interactive maps of the Project Infra em Movimento (PIM), promoted by Companhia de Concessões Rodoviárias (CCR), Rede Globo de Televisão (RGT) and Banco do Bradesco (Bradesco) in digital vehicles. Through the media formulations and the social relations that are established in contemporaneity, in counterpoint with the silencing and erasing of other senses of the city, we conceive that the real(s) of the city is not in circulation, in the materials that materialize through a proper order and organization. In this way, we articulate the discussions regarding city, subject, discourse and media in order to produce a shift to the analysis of the corpus, permeating the senses and other formulations when infrastructure issues are mobilized and sustainability policies are established, while in order to have the promotion of infrastructure, sustainability issues are necessarily triggered. There is no way to establish the expansion and/or modernization/updating of urban space and its relations, if there is not, previously, the exploitation of natural resources. Thus, organizations and companies, most of the time private, invest in discourses that are conveyed by the media resources, the electronic, in order to promote and/or soften the silences in relation to the accelerated urban growth and, on the other hand, the attempt to implement, to the urban subjects, quality of life and sustainability to life in the city.
