RESUMO:

The research in question, aims to describe the linguistic policies developed in the Khĩsêtjê community, specifically in the Khikatxi village with the purpose of maintaining and strengthening the Khĩsêtjê mother tongue. The investigation will be developed based on the observation of the daily cultural context in the period of nine months, since we have been living and working in Khĩsêtjê indigenous land since March 2020. The first chapter will bring an account of the experience lived by the researcher and then justifying the methodology used for the development of the research. The second chapter presents Indigenous peoples of Mato Grosso: who we are and how many we are. And how the Xingue Indigenous Park was formed, harnessing their struggles and demands for the recognition of the rights of indigenous peoples, above all, the right to territory, fundamental to physical existence. An overview of the historical and social context of the Khῖsêtjê people, in order to understand the complex, plural and specific universe experienced by these people in Brazil. In the third chapter, in an attempt to understand this relationship, we resorted to Public Policies aimed at indigenous school education from the creation of the Service for the Protection of Indians in 1910, to the configuration of the Citizen Constitution of 1988 which includes the rupture in the policies carried out until then of an integrationist character and of the State's tutelage over indigenous peoples through a retrospective of public linguistic policies in Brazil: from outside to inside. And finally, in the fourth chapter, it presents the Linguistic Policies in the indigenous community under study: from the inside out I present the sociolinguistic situation of the mentioned village, detailing the realities of uses of the Khῖsêtjê language in its social spheres of linguistic and cultural production in these communities.
