RESUMO:

Enrolled in the Linguistic Process Studies concentration area and linked to the Discursive Process Studies research line of the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Linguistics at the State University of Mato Grosso - UNEMAT, this dissertation aims to understand how textbooks work and / or organize the teaching of the lexicon based on glossaries. It leads us to reflect on the process of producing meaning inscribed in these glossaries and what these words build for the student-subject. Another aspect to be considered is to observe the way the subject-author positions himself before the LD: does he consider the discursive formations of the subject-students when inscribing meanings in the glossary? What interpretive movements can be made in relation to the author function and glossary reader effect? The discussions are listed based on the theoretical and methodological assumption of Discourse Analysis (AD) initiated by Michel Pêcheux, in France and Eni Orlandi, in Brazil, articulated to the History of Linguistic Ideas (HIL). We analyzed the teaching of the lexicon of three textbooks: Portuguese Linguagens, Singular e Plural and Projeto Teláris, worked in the sixth year of Elementary Education from three educational institutions located in the municipality of Porto Esperidião-MT, to understand the mechanisms of production and effects of meaning in these speeches. We observed during our studies that the glossaries of the analyzed textbooks are still worked on from the perspective of text analysis, homogeneity, as a return of the same, and, in several moments, the meanings of the words in the glossary were reduced to the space in which they were found, silenced, not providing the student with conditions to cross the linguistic structural barriers to make sense through his gestures of interpretation.
