RESUMO:

This research, registered in the concentration area "Study of Linguistic Processes" and the research line "Study of Social Practices of Language Processes", of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the University of Mato Grosso State, aims to analyze the discourses on language teaching practices in Mato Grosso Basic Education by teachers egressed and non-egressed from Language and Technology of the Arts Course at Unemat, in order to understand the extent to which they incorporate digital technologies in teaching practices. This research is motivated by recent studies in the area of Applied Linguistics and other fields of research in language that have shown that language practices, as well as most contemporary social relations are affected by digital technologies and that there is, historically, a misalignment of teaching practices with this emerging dynamic. In view of this set, when I realized the functioning of the Language and Technology discipline in the Course of Arts at Unemat and the perspectives pointed out by the students' narratives showing it as an instigator of a perspective that integrates digital technologies, I made the decision to produce this research, in order to observe, how these technologies are constituted in the discourses about practices of the egressed students of this discipline and also by non-egressed students, taking “Language and Technology” as a variable that influences the initial conditions of formation of these teachers. To carry out this study, I take as a theoretical support the postulates of Ortega and Han (2017), when they talk about the Theory of Complex Dynamic Systems applied in language studies and the methodological orientations of the Case Study, taking the case under study as a system of complex and adaptive nature. From the reflections presented in this work, I can highlight that digital technologies are part of the reality of the vast majority of teachers who participated in this research, however, more punctually, teachers who studied Language and Technology in their initial training deal with digital technologies, in general, more naturally. This does not mean that non-egressed are oblivious to these practices, on the contrary, some showed resilient and autonomous discursive attitudes regarding the incorporation of technologies in their language teaching practices, however, many still do not achieve this adaptation due to the limitations imposed by several aspects observed in their discourses, such as the lack of well-equipped computer labs, prohibitions on the use of smartphones and even the resistance of school administrations. In this context, the need for continuing in-service training focused on digital technologies comes into play, as well as the reformulation of the PPCs of undergraduate courses to deal with this new reality. About this, I analyzed some documents that begin to insert elements, both in Basic and Higher Education, for the reconfiguration of these spaces in response to this new reality. Allied to this discussion, I can conclude that a series of barriers that historically resist the entry of digital technologies into the school, end up that, with the pandemic of COVID 19, they seem not to support and start, forcefully, to conceive digital technologies as constitutive of language teaching practices in Mato Grosso Basic Education.
