RESUMO:

This research, registered in the concentration area "Study of Linguistic Processes" and the research line "Study of Processes of Social Practices of Language", of the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics at the University of Mato Grosso State, aims to analyze the extent to which digital technologies are incorporated into language teaching practices in Mato Grosso’s Basic Education by teachers graduating from Language and Technology in the Arts of Language Course. This research is motivated by recent studies in the area of Applied Linguistics and other fields of research in language that have shown that language practices, as well as most contemporary social relations are directly affected by digital technologies and that historically, there is a misalignment of teaching practices with this emerging dynamic. In view of this scenario, when perceiving the functioning of the Language and Technology discipline in the Arts of Language Course at Unemat/Cáceres and the perspectives pointed out by the students' narratives showing it as an instigator of a new vision in them regarding the use of digital technologies, we chose to verify posture of students graduating from this discipline some time later, when they are already working in Basic Education. To carry out this verification and analysis, we take as a theoretical support the postulates of Ortega and Han (2017), when they talk about the Theory of Complex Dynamic Systems applied in language studies and the methodological orientations of the Case Study, resized, in this research, for the online. From the reflections presented in this one, we can see that digital technologies are incorporated into the language teaching practices of students graduating from the Arts of Language course, and that the Language and Technology discipline emerged as a crucial element to establish a dynamic that complexifies and embodies to technologically mediated teaching practices, as well as dealing with teaching tools that can be explored in online and offline spaces. At the same time, we could also see that most non-graduates of Language and Technology teachers are not aligned with the new technologies and also with the guidelines of the recent documents that assist the reformulation of the curricula of Brazilian schools. Allied to this, there are a number of barriers that have historically resisted the entry of digital technologies into the school, but which, with the imposition of the COVID 19 pandemic, do not seem to support and start to forcefully conceive digital technologies as constitutive of language teaching practices in Mato Grosso’s Basic Education.
