This dissertation is part of the theme of political and educational management and aims to analyze the perception of school directors about the influence of New Public Management on educational management and school management in the state public education network of Mato Grosso between 2017 and 2022. New Public Management is a public administration reform program, guided by neoliberal rationality, whose theoretical and conceptual bases come from various market-oriented trends and which aims to introduce techniques, methods, values, beliefs, laws and marketing typical of public management. large corporations in public administration, and in school reforms. The set of changes in the management and organization of public education in Mato Grosso under the interference of the private sector led us to the following question: Principles, values, methods and techniques of New Public Management have been influencing education in public schools in the state public network of Mato Grosso between 2017 and 2022? To respond to the research problem, a qualitative research approach was developed, with a descriptive and documentary nature, including documentary survey such as: Laws, Decrees, Ordinances, Resolutions, in addition to the distribution of a semi-structured questionnaire script using the Google Forms tool applied to school directors of schools in the state public education network of Mato Grosso, observed through data collected in the questionnaires that directors are aware of the changes that have been introduced in schools, mainly related to the democratic process and the insertion of partnerships with the private sector.
